The insurance quotes you've got so far? Doesn't matter where but wondering what kind of costs we're looking at for a full 12 months?

Well with 24/7 insurance it was £160 for 12 months, and that was the premier cover, the normal was £130. I haven't really looked anywhere else.

It's just 24/7 Insurance (if you type 'backpackers insurance' into google it's generally the first one on the list). They wouldn't cover me because of my medical condition (but American Express will so I'm over that stress now) but they do cover all the visa requirements.

Hi Louisa, I'm looking for insurance to cover my pre-existing condition (which is really annoying) and looked on the American Express website but could only find international cover which doesn't seem to cover you when your in America - where did you find yours??

I phoned them up and asked for Gap Year Cover....they only do one level, but they looked up my condition in their big book of medical stuff and it was covered.

What did you find that wouldn't be covered? I was having real trouble with repatriation of remains but all you have to do is ask if they cover it to the right amount, and they know what they're looking for! Also, just ask to have the US/Canada included...makes it a little more expensive (mine came to £254 including loss of baggage and trip cancellation) but it's cheaper than the £2000 BUPA International wanted!

Now you've got me worried they won't cover lol. Just don't tell them you're going there to work. I found that BUPA wouldn't cover me if I was working...which is ridiculous.

I am on 17th Feb now too! :)

    Yaaaay.

If you are arriving on those dates what time does your flight arrive?

I didn't do it through STA travel as it didn't actually work out the best deal!!!

Oh you arrive nice and early...no fair!!! I was supposed to arrive at 3pm, but they cancelled the earlier flight and stuck me on the later one. I guess it doesn't matter either way as I'll have a couple of days off that others won't be having lol.

Mine gets in at 5.20 from Gatwick.

I am kinda scared about getting from the airport to the accomodation.

Seriously of all the things that could be making me nervous - this is the only one!! Lol.

I have started put all the things I'm not taking with me into storage now, its so exciting!!!

You'll be fine. There are usually hundreds of cabs outside that will take you to the Hotel.

Once i finally decide on a fly out date and have booked it i'll need a hotel for an extra day or 2 before my start date. Was planning to go to Pop Century but Disney want about £100 a night there in mid July

May just find some crummy old place on International drive. ;D Don't Disney collect you from where ever your staying on your start date or is that just from the airport? I'm in a such bloody muddle

Go into a travel agents or look online for airport transfers. theres loads of companies that you can use to book shuttle buses from the airport to certain places.

I checked it out with a company called resort hoppa, and they were charging £15 for a shuttle to take me to lake buena vista. They usually take you to the property your staying at if you give an address. no worries mate! hakuna matata.

I'm taking a Mears shuttle to wherever we have to go (On the information sheet it says Vista). It's $20 one way and I've used them before and they're awesome. Takes maybe half an hour depending on who else there is in the shuttle. You just go on the website and book it. Or you can turn up and wait for a seat! Just remember to get a receipt from them so you can get refunded by Disney.

My flight is 9 and a half hours :( I swear it used to be 7 LOL. So long as I get there I don't care.

Just remember to email Disney and Yummy with your flight details! Did mine yesterday.

Just a tip from me.... write a list of everything you need to do before you go (mine includes things like changing car insurance and tidying my room LOL) and a list of everything that needs to be done for Disney (i.e. finding travel insurance and booking shuttles and stuff) then add tick boxes and check them off as you do them! That way you know what else needs to be done!

    Pure genius :D hehe

Had a result with looking for flights. Where as they were all returns with Virgin for around £590 i've found some with STA travel

I've got 12th July with Virgin for £377 one way OR £356 on either the 13th/14th July one way

Not sure which date to take?(14th date given)

When you arrive on the date they've given you, do you start the next day for training or do they give you a couple of days to settle in 1st?

Holy cow you booked it early! The airline I will use if I fly is only booking to June 26. But I guess getting a flight from Canada doesn't need to be booked as far ahead as UK. And my mum is still set that we are going to drive to Florida. That is a 24 drive! Help me!
