Hi everyone, I am thinking about applying to work in WDW for when i finish college, september 2008 ish, could anyone give me any tips etc, as to what it is like and anything i may want to know before applying? I currently work for the Disney Store in the UK, have always been a fan of disney but since working in the Disney store i have realised how much i actually want to work in WDW and for the company! Thanks! Rachel x
For me there's only one word that can describe it.. AMAZING.. Its hard to describe really tho..You have to experience it really, you can't really put it in words..
Well i'm 17 at the moment, 18 in November, can i apply before i am 18 to start after i am 18 or do i need to wait until i am actually 18 before i can apply? Thanks for the reply, is there any other info that anybody can give me please? Rach x
Im pretty sure you can apply before your 18, but you only have to be 18 to actually do the program.. What do you wana no? Fire away..
i dunno, anything you can tell me please...?! Best things to do etc...just anything thats going to let me know a some info before applying?! Thanks x
hi rach I'm doing the cultural rep program and i start in sept, i working in merchandising in the UK pavilion at epcot, i will be there for a year. there are other programmes where you can work in things such as characters are the attractions but they are as long as a year normally about 3 months. oh yes you can apply when your 17 just as long as your 18 when you start
thank you for your help!! Very much appreciated! ;D So what do i need to send off with the application, where do i send it to? How many people actually get turned down for the job as well? I would be devastated if i didn't get taken on, it's like my dream!!!! Rach x
If you are from the Uk then you send it to Yummy Jobs. I am hopefully going on the Summer programme next year and I sent my application during my easter holidays so that would have been about 2 months ago. I was very early though and need to wait until october time until I hear more from Kristen who co-ordinates this programme. I would send it now so it is over and done with and then remind them around August time. That is what I am doing anyway.
im not sure how many people get turned down i read somewhere that for the cultural rep theres a ration of 10:1 when you apply. so thats like 9 turned down and 1 in. its different for other countries to the uk tho - less po if you get turned down at any stage you can reapply - and u can always contact them to ask where u went wrong too and see what feedback u can get etc...
If you want to find out what it's like, it is worth reading people's blogs of their time there... Here's mine www.freewebs.com/disneygibbs And a few others to keep you busy! www.summerwiththemouse.blogspot.com http://dizneedreamer.blogspot.com/ http://girlmeetsworld-brynna.blogspot.com/
