Wasnt sure where to post this question as it could go anyway, so general it is. :)

If you work at DAK, where the park closes alot earier than the others, in the evenings do you then get taken other to other parks as extra staff, or are you just lucky and get loads of time free in the evenings?

Oh wow, thats quite good, But i think would personally prefer the bigger parks cause then you can be out in the sun all day and work in the evening, quite good, But thats only for those who enjoy the heat and sun!

One of the awkward things about DAK, despite the reasonable work hours, is the location of costuming. Its fine if you have a car, but if you rely on the busses, unlike the other parks, costuming is a bus ride away and its a request stop, meaning if you go you have to wait a while for another bus to take you to the park - you can't just pop in for a few minutes on the way to work like you can at the other parks. The other option is to wash the costume yourself, but as you only have three costumes as an ICP, you may have to wash your clothes every three days, a bit of a hassle (and costly). DAK's daytime hours can be seen as a positive if you like working 9 till 5, given us internationals at the other parks tend to be given evening shifts as we have no choice, but you'll be working in the heat of the day (if you work outside) and have a more awkward costuming location.

Some prefer the evening work hours as its cooler, and you can do stuff in the day, whereas after a shift at DAK you may feel you just want to go home, have dinner and relax.

Of course we don't get a choice of where we go anyway, unfortunately you coud be working in a shop in Pop Century resort or a food counter in the Caribbean Beach resort.

That's cool, thanks for the info!

my mate went out and she ended up working on a sun cream booth in the beach club. she left after a month. she also left her course, moved in with ehr boyfriend and now doesnt speak to anyone...so maybe it wasnt the location lol.

The early closes are the only reason why I reckon DAK isn't for me (not that I have a choice, I know!)... I used to love working late/closing shifts because there's the cooler temperatures (but still cosy warm, of course) as well as how spectacular the parks look at night. I could sit and stare all around me in the parks for days on end without ever actually experiencing an attraction... Actually, if I had a penny for every time I had just sat with a few friends and stared at the castle... well... I'd have quite a few pennies...

Of course, working days is also pretty cool because you're swamped with guests and you get to try and have an impact on their day in very little time which is loads of fun... The evening and night is where it's at though, I reckon!

(P.S. Most of my shifts were 1-9.30, 2-10.30 and 2-12.30... Can we say lucky?! :D )

its nice but dak closes at 8 usually ten on emh, so your looking to be working til 9, if you make the bus you could be on sorted and on your way to enjoy evenings in the other parks, the later in august you get it starts closing at 5... so then you have about 4 hours til magic closes....

Thats really good in some ways but it means you wont be able to work as much, wont it?

Or can you pick up shifts in other parks for something else?

usually roles like custodial or food and bev its very easy to change over to other parks but if you are in ops you cant really pic up shifts in other locations, but there is the extra hours hotline which can have shifts in some area that dont require special training like drinks in a food and bev place
