Wondering when to apply... help please!!

Hi Guys

I want to apply for the international cultural rep programme but am not available to start until August/Sept 2008 just wondering when would be the right time to apply. How long after application does the interview process begin (assuming you get through!!) i.e if I applied now would it be too early?

Hey!!! It mostly depends on what Country you are from. But if you did apply now, you can specify that you wouldn't be able to start until August, and they usually accomodate your request. The best thing to do would be to send off an e-mail or a quick phone call to them, to show that you are interested and to find out the best time to apply.

 

If u are from the UK then apply asap! People who were at my interviews on 26th Sept this year have been given start dates in Sept 08 so they have already started recruiting for that time.

hi! people are applying all year round i would probably suggets that you apply now and state when you can work out there. it is a long process so you probably wont be there till sept now any way.... good luck!!!!!!!!

I'm 21 now but will prob be 22 if I got through when I was out there - what is the average age - I won't be too old will I?!! x

 

heck no! at 21 you're probably still one of the youngest applying. infact some people put it off until that age becuase of the drinking age in the US!!!

 

cool, I noticed on one of your previous posts you were thinking of applying in jan as you cant go out until november 08 - have you applied already? If I applied now when do u think interviews etc will be x

I applied about a month ago, hoping to go out September 2008 time if i get on!!
When i emailed yummyjobs in the UK, they told me that to apply in January for start dates in September 2008. Other countries could be different, but thats how it stands for the UK CRP as far as i'm aware!!

yeah i have already applied for the sept 2008 programme, so it definetel isnt too earlt if anything its the right time now. they start the fhone interciews at the end of january and then the face to face intervews are in march!

I think some people on hear are leaving in sept 2008 - it says on their count down thing? So how come they are leaving so late if they have been through the interview and everything?X

 

Well my F2F interview is on Monday bt if I get through I won't be going out until summer 08. I think it is because of the things that need to be sorted (visas and stuff especially if you are on the international programme)

 

the college programme f2f interviews are happening now pretty much.

the cultural rep programme phone interviews are in january and then the face to face interviews are in march for sept departure. it takes long because there are visas, sponsors andchecks that have to be done before you can be sent to work in the U.S but im guessing its all worth it!!!

 

ok hopefully if i apply now they will phone me in jan? What do u think?

im applying for the cultural rep because im not a student I can't apply for any other programme

 

yeh sounds about right. i'm applying in jan for cult rep positions sept 08 onwards =] i won't be a student then anymore either

My first post on the forum actually, although ive been browsing for the last couple of weeks (every day, lol)

Im going to be sending off my application via yummyjobs for the cult rep program as well in the next few days, and i presumed the earliest possible would be sept '08 (although id go now if i could )

Certainly would LOVE to go and havent thought about much else the last couple of weeks, I just wish i had found out about the programs before and had gotten a sooner interview


Who else is applying for sept then?

 

I'd love to go around Jan/feb time so you would end your programme doing xmas/newyear stuff but im happy to start from Sept onwards really, think it would be so cool to be living in orlando - I would get excited about silly things like having breakfast in a classic american diner!!

I'm sure i'll prob double is size over there! every time i go usa im shocked at the portions!!
