Hey I leave a week later (but I'm driving so I'm actually leaving around June 12 lol) but just throwing my 2 cents in. This is a great idea and we did it last year! Us west coasters had to take a red eye the night before but 5 of us met up in Montreal and 3 of us even booked our seats together so we sat together on the way down.

Thats sooo cool... My friends that i applied with wanted to do the whole "road trip" thing... but we all have different arrival dates!!

    Where you from??

Red Deer Alberta. Yeah we were from All over canada on my arrival date, just met at baggage claim in Montreal and all hoped on the same plane it worked out well.

The road trip thing could be fun and while it isn't nessicary I would much rather have my car for Walmart/publix runs and for when I work a closing shift. Those are the only times I loathed the busses.

I go to Red Deer all the time to visit friends of the family - I really love that town! It seems a nice place to live ;D

I leave June 12 too! I havn't officially started booking anything, but I've been looking between Air Canada and West Jet and the prices are pretty similar - except for one flight through Air Canada which takes me directly to Toronto and then to Florida! That sounds pretty swanky considering the billion other connections I'd have to take with other flights. Where are you starting out your flight kekepuana?

Hey there ... I will be leaving from Vancouver... I dont know who to book with and I talked to Eric and he suggests waiting till the last minute to book so that if there are any changes in arrival dates we dont have to worry... I Dunno what to do??!!??

    Where are you from Ashleydawn???

I generally say Saskatoon - althought that's not true - I'm from the surrounding area. But I'm leaving from Saskatoon :D

I travel alot and it is true about booking last minute - you get amazing discounts that way, too. It only cost me around 90 bucks without taxes to get to Calgary for interveiws (one way!). But there iiiis the issue that there are no guarantees that you'll get a spot. Its rare that you ever encounter a full plane though... but then again, Florida just to happens to be a popular vacation desitination (HA, who knew?).

I might end up doing the last minute booking thing, too. I'm guessing we'll all meet up at some point - since all flights end up leaving from Toronto! Or so it seeeeems. I suppose there might be a couple waves of us... but then again, I'm not even sure how many of us are leaving that day! I wonder... how can we find out?

Yeah i wonder if Eric or someone would tell us how many people are leaving June 12th.. Im pretty sure there has to be more and maybe some people who dont know about this site.

Im kinda nervous about buying my ticket at the last minute!!! I dont want to ruin my chances of actually getting down there on time... i dunno what to do!!!

Have either of you purchased your mecial insurance yet???

Nope, havn't gotten the insurance yet! Haha, I only just sent in my record check... it seems like so far off until I leave, so I havnt rushed to do everything yet (except a practice pack *cough*).

I wouldn't worry toooooo much about the flights - with WestJet and Air Canada when I checked the dates for June 11th there were a tonne of flights to choose from as far as times went, so if you can't make one, there'll be another soon enough :D

Oh and for both of your information if ya don't know (and plan on meeting up eventually), I know it'll be harder but if you can you might want to consider meeting up in Montreal. It's a bit smaller airport (and less confusing to get around) then the one in Toronto. Although my customs lady there wasn't the friendlyest person lol.

Oh and Ashley I don't believe I've been out your way (or at least not that far, I used to live near Lloydminster) but it's cool you come here often... although not a whole lot to see/do in Red Deer... Edmonton/Calgary are where a lot of the fun stuff is in Alberta.

I totally agree.. i think it would be really cool to meet up somewhere with others.. but the flights i have been looking at go from vancouver to huston.. So i dont think that from Vancouver we fly to Toronto or Montreal??!!?? I think that would be an extra 5 hours from here and its probablynot worth it!

Well I know someone on here who did it but they (like me) had to take a red eye... actually wait scratch that I think they flew out of Seattle instead of Vancouver.

Ack! Transfering in the states sounds a little scary - I'm really familiar with the Toronto airport - I never actually visit Toronto itself (I actually kind of have a slight personal vendetta against the city *shakes fist*) but I swear I've spent over 48 hrs stuck there collectively through all the flights I've taken. All of the WestJet/Air Canada flights going from Saskatoon go to Toronto (or Calgary and then Toronto), so I'm out of luck there!

I do like the Toronto airport though - lots of places to nap, shop, and waste time! I'd much rather be there than say, stuck in the Saskatoon airport with it's Tim Hortons and Souviner Shoppe. And a bench or two.

Edmonton has lots of great stuff to offer - haha, even apart from West Ed mall :D I love visiting there! Never been to Calgary though, apart from the disney interviews and that was a scary experience!

    Hi Guys

I was just reading your convo, and thought I would throw my 2 cents in, even though my arrival date is April 24 for canadian attractions. I will still meet you all when you arrive. I have been looking at flights as well and coming from the west coast I think the only option is to red eye it out the night before, but it does get messy with the layovers, (Houston/ Vegas/Charlotte/Chicago) and none of them are particularly at great times. I think at least waiting until you get the confirmed package from disney would be safest before booking flights but I so am not a last minute kinda girl. I had a good laugh at the practice pack comment! (not that I would attempt that :)

As for the Red Deer Comments, my brother attended a hockey school in Sylvian Lake and we went to the go karts there (lots of fun) and then we went to dinner at the keg, I have only good memories of Red Deer.

Anyways I will see you guys soon!

Yes I was at the November interviews, At the tourism college downtown right? I got lost on my way down there. I am hopeless with directions. That is crazy that you have to pack up all your stuff and sell it, just to come back a year from now.............. unless you have the same plan as me..............go to florida find prince charming and live happily ever after................HAHA I may have been watching to many disney movies. Where abouts in Surrey do you live? I used to live in Cloverdale and I graduated from Lord Tweedsmuir Sec.

So you had troubles finding the place too?

Over yonder in Calgary I got at the University a few hours *cough*five*cough* early, and it took me a good one and half just to find the right building! Some obscure little centre on the outskirts of the property bordered by parking lots... and most of the people on campus said it wasn't smart to be wandering out there in the dark (it was eaaaaarly) by myself.

And that sounds like a fine plan to me :p
