Where do we get to eat during lunch break?

Do we need to bring our own lunch box or buy something near work place?

 

Im not sure, but i think i read some post here that the common is to bring u're own food bag, as un get discounts bugt even with all the pays u do, u end up quite broke

 

You better believe i will be rocking out with my metal cat in the hat lunch box. Yeah old school like!

 

yeahh it's cheaper to bring ur own lunch instead of buying it over there.

I dont know how long the lunch break is. Does anybody know maybe? and if u have small breaks in between?

How long your breaks are depends on how long your shift is. Generally (in merch at least) for an 8 or 10 hour shift, your lunch is an hour long (with another one or two short breaks).

For the IP, some folks do take a packed lunch. The cast canteen in Epcot is in the Odyssea (between Test Track and Mexico). It has a subway, a grill (burgers etc.) and a 'dish of the day' type place. You can also get all the usual stuff (salads, muffins etc.). It's not the cheapest of places however (esp. Subway), hence the packed lunches.

The problem is, depending on where you are in World Showcase, it can take you ages to get to Odysea. So for some, it's really not worth it. Most work locations have a breakroom (with microwave, fridge, tables, TV etc.) Some are nicer than others however.

Also, whilst the Cast Canteens in the main parks are wonderful, there is nothing like as much in the water parks and resorts (although that only affects ICPs).

 

hey everyone

i have another question like are U rotating locations from time to time or is it like once you get there they tell you in which of the parks are you working and that will be the one for the whole time?? ??? ???

 

anyone else get the feeling that with all these subways and burgers that they are going to be buying clothes a size bigger by the end of the summer??

You'll be assigned to one location at one park or resort. You could, however, pick up 'extra hours' (i.e. overtime) at other locations/parks.

I thought u can only have extra hours but doing the same job.
i've heard that visa is released in order to allow u to make a specific job...

Sorry, that comment was targetted at vargas, who I understand is on the ICP (summer program). ICPs use a J1-S visa, which allows work in multiple locations.

I presume, AlexHope, from your arrival date, that you are a cultural rep, in which case you're using a Q1 visa; that visa, as you've been told, only allows you to work in the specific pavilion at Epcot.

hey thnx 4 the info 'cause I was really lost with that... hey and about lunch... trust me eating subway does not make U gain that much weight i've been eating that 4 these hole year in collage and i've lost weight actually lol....

I dont know i think im starting the diet only thinking about the possibilities of weight with all the lunch brakes ( plus im in Mexican pavillion)

aaaahhh I can eat subway sandwiches all day long we have one over here in Holland too.

The only thing is, that those subs are a little expensive, but it's all worth the money once you've tasted them

but I think most of the time I will pack my own lunch.

Well i dont like them to much since my ex bf make me eat a hole sub, ( hey i cant do it ) since then i sow them and fell like my stomach gets upside down

 

hmmm well I'm sure they have lots of other nice food to eat
