What time will we start work?

Hi everyone - just wondered if anyone could give me an idea what time merch shifts start each day. I know the latest finish is 9-10 pm... just wonderd how early we have to get up!

the world showcase is right at the back of the park....therefor it opens later. ive never ever seen it open before 11! so im guessing half ten or eleven am start??

Im sure someone said to me before that is was good that we dont have to start til late in the morning!

Yeah i remember u saying that...
i was wondering since theres 10 and 8 hr shift people if some might start later that day/finish early... Eleven am starts sound great - even 10 is cool... sure beats having to start at seven sometimes like i do at the conference centre...

yeah i just couldnt do that! physically could not get out of bed to work at that hour! to go shopping's another thing altogether though!haha

Since World Showcase usually opens at 11am...most people have to be there at 10:30. In Canada, we had a couple of openers that had to be there at 10. In the UK, I think they might have had one or two earlier than that...but I'm not 100%. When you do your picks, you'll get to tell them what time you'd like to start...preferably...and then cross your fingers.

Linz - haha i dunno how i manage to get up that early for work especially given i struggle to be up for 9 most days... - i def prefer evening shifts...

i defo wudnt complain about that late (well for) startin, as at minute i start at 8 at alton towers, so wooo anythin later then that is a bonus!

Yeah it sounds great doesnt it Sar! im thinking if i can get up for starting at 7 now... 10.30 start will be awesome! Though watch it get harder after non stop partying! 10.30 will seem like the crack of dawn...

You don't necessarily get to pick. It goes in seniority and you basically get to tell them if you'd prefer to start earlier or later...but if you are on 4's and 3's, you are gonna start early anyways to get the 10 hours in!

All it's relative!!! As mexican F&B you have to be opener sometimes when work in the fast food "cantina" so that shift begins at 7 a.m. but lucky me I opened on july 4th 2003... at 6 a.m., I literaly knock the door of security to get in to work... to overstock everything for the holiday...! six a.m. crazy isn't it! was stil dark, no buses running from commons to EPCOT so they sent me one specially for me, only me... crazy mexican managers ah... !

And of course my shift didn't end early cause the amount of people, I had to do overtime mandatory! but no fireworks... you know those holidays when the parks are packed you MUST not go or stay at the parks if you are caugth as a castmember enjoying the parks you can be terminated.... there's always a way to stay but there's security in the doors going from wardrove to stage areas. So take your risk.

so wait....how many hours a day do we work? did i read that right...10 hours? or was that a joke?

 

I think you either work about 8hrs 5 days a week, or 10 hrs 4 days a week? But maybe not quite that many sometimes and sometimes more depending how busy the parks are!
