Alright, so I'm a young 32 year old wanting to finally go for his dream and work on DCL. However, not sure which position to apply for. I auditioned for performer but didnt get in...this time. In the meantime, I think I have other assets which could get me working on the ship but not really sure what to go for. For instance, "Youth Counsellor": I have an Honours BA. in Psychology (4 years university) but no "youth counselling" experience per se (though I am the father of an 8 year old child!). Would my education be enough to get me a job as youth counsellor? On the other hand, I have tons of experience doing odd jobs in retail and customer service but those years are far behind. Does it still count? Finally, I have never been on a cruise ship so I dont even know if I would get sea sick. What happens if you get hired, and then find out you get green every day?!

Well you never know if the sea is gonna be your friend....and you might start with cupleof stormy day and think it s hell to work there, or you might have great calm day for weeks and think, oh boy it s nice...
i dont know what people are gonna tell you but on my side i would say, DONT DO YC ON DISNEY CRUISE LINE...you would die with all those kids...i m a kid lover but american kid and that many at the same time is like jail time for me..lol
and last advice, if you have a 8 year old honestly...dont go ....you wouldnt miss much anyway, i mean it s nice and all but nothing compare to be with your kid...i dont wanna sound too...but..well that s what i think....find a job onland make some money and in cuple of year take your kid on one of the cruise, you ll have a better time.
