Hi everyone, just a question for anyone whos done the CRP....what happens when you arrive? I know Disney can pick u up at the airport and take you yo the commons, but what then? Do they expect you to start any training within the next day or do you get time to adjust to the time difference etc??

Bright and early the next few days you're doing things such as paperwork, going to get a Social Security Number, and eventually Traditions.

Basically be ready for total sleep deprevation for about a week or so.

    Jorden it's NOT THAT bad...

The day you get here, depending on when your plane arrives, you either have the hole day to get settled or you have to get to sleep and up early the next day...

You usually have two days of early mornings of signing papers. Then a day off...usually Traditions is on the Saturday, depending on your arrival date!

Then you have "Discovery Days in while you learn about your area of work" Where to go, etc.

Then ususally a day off before you start at work training!

The First 2-3 weeks definately is no walk in the park. Lots of tired Mornings!

Well most people have late nights, and everything until you actually start working is an early morning........ and if you're coming from Europe or elsewhere out of north america the jet lag wont help either.

True, even the 3 hr difference screwed me up...but yes the first week is ALL early mornings but since most of of will work in World Showcase which doesn't open until 11, you rarely start early!

The first day at the club house was probably one of the worst in my whole life. What happened to me? I traveled nearly 24h (train, no direct flight...), didn't eat a lot, drunk way to much at my throw in and just got 2 hours sleep... combine that all with a jet lag and you will know how I felt the first week :p

Here, here chrissi! I nearly died the first day and then everysingle day at DU! Didn't help that some of the facilitators were monotone, but traditions was the best day EVER EVER- i actually cried and discovery day was brilliant, one of the UK cps actually teaches those classes now! I hope i get her! Apparently they don't do throw ins anymore whish sucks- something about an issue with security!
Was anyone there when 2 uks stole the security pargo? It was immense!

from what ive heard form recent peple they still do them just quietly lol

im feeling glad now im getting a straight thru flight and dont have to get up at 2am on the day to travel (hugs her hotel and flight tickets) i reckon i should be nice and awake when i arrive

i do have a question tho - what happens when we actually arrive off our flights with going through customs and stuff? do we still go though the foreign people one or through the us one as we have work permits?

oh and do the disney guys find u easily or am i gonna be lugging me bright purple case for miles around mco which incidently is not my favourite airport over there!

and one more lol is there like a shop or vending machines around the commons where u can get like coke and munchies to tide u over?

okay 2 more - how long does it take from arrival in mco to getting to ur room? and what time does the fun start with the meet/greets/throwins? will i have time to go to walmart as im supposed to be getting into mco by 3pm orlando time

you go through customs as usual as it's about your passport of origin. you have a british passport so you're foreign. the only difference is in the forms you fill out. You don't need to do the green visa card (because you have a visa), just the white one. Then the white one gets stapled into your passport by the customs guys. I think it's that way around anyway!

It just means you'll be asked different questions when you go through. But everything is the same.

they don't say. it's like secret society or something. you don't talk about fight club etc.

it's so as not to ruin the 'surprise' for what happens to you.

But it sounds ot me like a tame hazing ritual!

i've been getting random practice at staying up for days or working on about 2 hours sleep for a few days so I think I'm ready for my first week now ;)

staying up all night for an election count then having to go back the next day to finish. fun! and my flight to belfast was some ungodly hour too so I didn't sleep that day and I was sick! so I figure disney can throw anything at me now and I'll survive.

I haven't tried it all yet with alcemahol in my system yet tho....
