hey everyone!!!! just wondering if anyone has had the disney cruise line medical and if so.... what goes on?? do u have to get naked??? or can u just stand in ur underwear, i have this awful vision of being completely stripped to the bone!!!! do they write to your gp and get full report from them as to what uve been to docs for over the last few years? wat sorta tests do they do etc? im just asking cos i know there are a few people who want to know wat goes on etc. thanks love laura xxxxx
Hi Laura, When I had my medical for the cruise back in 2003 it was pretty simple. It involved things like a hearing test, an eye test, blood tests so they can test for things like aids and hepatitis and urine samples. You also need to have chest x-rays done too. When I had my done it was at a doctors in Leeds so having the chest x-rays done was a bit of a pain as I had to go to Leeds General Hospital which took ages. I didn't have to get naked at any point!!!! ;D I don't remember if they checked details with my own GP or not. I remember the doctor asking lots of questions about my medical history and the history of my family. Although in saying that DCL only seem to use a doctor in London now and one of my friends from Epcot had hers done down there and she said the doctor made her strip to her underwear and bend over so he could check her spine!!!! ??? I'm quite worried about that as I'm thinking about going back to the ship and have my medical booked in London for the 14th of March so I guess I'll be able to tell you all about it in a couple of weeks!! LOL that is funny! when i got my medical done for the hotel i used to work for i also had to strip down to my panties, but my god, he's a doctor, it's all good. on the other hand, i didn't have to bend over lol julia
fair enough, it may be a doctor who does the medical....i am not afraid of them and yes i know they see it all everyday.... all i wanted to know was whether you had to go completely starkers for it or whether u could keep ur bra and pants on for a medical, i dont think its necessary to strip down to nothing and wondered if this was the case........ i will happily prance around in my underwear for it but i aint whipping it all out!!!! laura xxxx
