I'm going on holiday to Florida on Monday, so sent Yummy Jobs an email to say i wouldn't be in the country and couldn't read my mail till two weeks after when i arrive home, and was sent this: Thank you for your interest in the Walt Disney World (tm)International Programs! Due to the high demand of applicants we are not accepting anymore applications for the Walt Disney World Cultural Representative Program for this season. We will keep your details on file and will contact you sometime in January for the next recruitment session in the spring for start dates commencing Sept 08. Warmest Regards. Now I think that they just completely forgot about me, as i had received nothing since i applied over three months ago! They probably thought "oh sh!t! who's this guy?!?!! aw man we 4got about him, oh well its too late now" lol I don't think they realise how much this means to some people, Ive been to WDW 15 times since i was 4, it meant the world to me, and now i gotta wait till next year :-\ :'(
Sorry to hear you didnt make it, but at least they said they'd keep you in mind thats quite positive. I just got straight out rejected, told I hadn't enough experience:-(.
I wouldn't be so sure about that actually... it seems to me on here that Yummy sends canned e-mail responses to people (seen it happen a few times on here). I wouldn't be surprised if they just assumed you were e-mailing for information and they gave you the stock responce. I would try to give them a phone call if possible to get things cleared for you. Have fun when you get here!
yeah u may get a sudden email or phone call. i got told the same thing and then all of a sudden i got a call for a phone interview just when i had abandoned all hope!
I'm sorry you didn't get in this time. Its obvious that you want this really badly, which is why its going to happen for you. It'll be worth the wait for sure. You never know whats going to happen between now and next year though, so definatly give them a call to confirm things.
hey i applied for the CRP last week and recieved pretty much the same email. It said: Thankyou for your interest in the Walt Disney World â„¢International Programs! Applications for the Walt Disney World Cultural Representative Program have now closed. We will keep your details on file and will contact you sometime in January for the next recruitment session in the spring for start dates commencing Sept 08. Warmest Regards so fingers crossed they will contact when they say they will
Well, i landed home this morning, and no emails from Yummy I too will have my fingers crossed for next year, otherwise, ill just pop into the Casting centre opposite downtown disney and apply there, cut out the middle man!
Don't worry about it - I got the same email from them when I applied - and here I am 6 days away from flying to florida! Good luck!
Yeah, I got that e-mail too! But that just means we'll have our interviews in January, I'm hoping to start there next September for my gap year
Well that doesnt sound too far away i suppose! do you know when the phone interviews will be for that?
I was told the same thing that i wasn't accepted first time round when i auditioned in march but then they rang me up a month ago and now im going on december 4th! don't give up give them a call to see if there is any positions available thats what i did and they said i was at the top of the waiting list 3 days later i got offered a place. Apparently that e-mail means your on a waiting list not that you've not been accepted, don't give up!
Suppose it wont hurt to give them a call, it seems to me that you can only get a direct answer by phoning them, emailing gets you nowhere and very inpatient lol!
I sent in an application by post to Yummy Jobs in June and got that same response by email around August time. I was gutted too because I was really hoping to start a career with the Walt Disney Company. However, there was an advert in 'The Stage' for Disney Cruise Line in September so I sent an application for that and have an interview next week. Then just yesterday I had an email from Yummy Jobs about a new postgraduate scheme at Walt Disney World for international applicants. So I'm also going for that aswell. If you are a university graduate you'll be eligible for the new scheme too and they are still accepting applications. If you're interested in it let me know and I'll give you some more information. If you're not may I suggest the Cruise Line? Or just hang in there and I'm sure you'll get to do the Cultural programme eventually!
from what yummy jobs told us at our interview the postgrad program is the easiest to get on because you have to be a recent graduate, and i don't know of anyone who applied for the october group who wasn't accepted.
That's fantastic if everyone got accepted! I'll try and stay hopeful to get on then You must be well excited to be going in October? How long does yours last? I'm thinking until April? The one I've applied for starts in January so I think we're likely to crossover if I get accepted!
yep our program is 6 months from 7th october to 4th april, so if you do get in our paths could possibly cross.
thats a pretty good time to be in florida, the weather isnt so hot and humid, would be quite comfortable to work in, a bit chilly at some times tho lol
