    hey all!
a good friend of mine is going to be getting married while i'm in florida. she really wants me to be there and i really want to be there, too
so does anyone know what i'll have to do to make sure that i have enough time to fly up to canada, attend the wedding and fly back to florida?
    any help would be awesome!
    cheers,

Yeah, talk to them as soon as you can, and get a back-to-back to cover those days...
as Kelly said, they'll understand... just do it as soon as you get there... less chance you'll get time off if you wait...

    Hey Mallory,

I know what you mean one of my best friends is also getting married next
aug, I would love to be there but it would cost way too much money
for me to get a flight back to the U.K also I don;t think you get payed if you take time off.
It may be easier for you to get flights back to Canada so I would ask if
you could do it coz it will be worth it.

work a back 2 back. you work 10 days then get 4 days off. 10 days sounds alot, but its simple.

    thanks for your suggestions guys!
so i guess in the first few days that i'm there, i'll make sure to tell the manager. the wedding is in may, and i arrive in december...so that is a lot of notice!!
4 days off would be awesome. working 10 days straight doesn't seem so bad!
    cheers,

As long as it doesn't fall on the holiday weekend in May...if it does...you might be in trouble because it could be a blockout date for booking days off. Somebody there now might be able to check that out. Just book the days off as soon as you get there. Worst case, you'll only have 3 days off.

i've never been a part of a wedding before. only a guest. i can't wait to be a bridesmaid, or maid of honor....but i have a feeling i'll be a bride first before i'm a bridesmaid or anything...
