Which is the best bank to go with? Any pros or cons for either?

Also, is our paycheck paid directly into our account or do we have to pay it in?

    Do they have a branch?

    hiya

ive heard that both these banks are ok to go with, but apparently you should not go with bank america or something likke that because there not good. my mate when he was over there was with suntrust n he had no problems at all!!so reckon thats the safest bet!!

My girlfriend is banked with Suntrust and has had no problems...
you get your wages paid directly into your account but i THINK you could request to have them handed to you and you do it but i cant understand why someone would choose to do that lol

Suntrust have a massive bank and i cant quite remember where it is but theres a bus too it from your houses so its accessible..

    hey there,

don't take vista. during your first days in the commons you gonna have a meeting and someone from vista will be there. they want you to take vista bank.
most of the participants do have suntrust and it's close to downtown disney (market place), just the other side of the street. if you have some time you can also take a bus to bank of america - close to sea world. They have accounts for disney employees as well - you don't have to pay a fee and you get a funky tiny debit card and a normal size one with your picture on it. its a good thing for your scrapbook later on. :D

Here's my opinion then (to confuse you further ;D ),

I was with Vista. I went with them basicaly because it was so much easier to do. The came to the commons on our 1st day and got us all signed up, our accounts were activated within the week and we were raring to go. If you want to use any other bank you have to go set it up at their bank yourself. Here's the pros and cons of Vista as I see them:

    Vista
    PROS

    • easy to set up
    • there's Vista ATMs at the commons and at cast services
    • bus drops you at Vista (there's also one inside Disney University)
    • their online banking is easy to set up and user friendly
    • their atm & checking cars are soooo funky (they had a range of disney buildings when I was there)
    CONS
    • You won't find a Vista ATM outside of Disney
    • other banks ATM charges
    • account charges (these are a new thing so I can't really comment)

Like I said, I was with Vista so I can't really speak for the benefits of other banks. :-\

do you know how much they charge for taking money of another atm. and do i understand right you pay for you checking account like 3$ a month and nothing for your debit card? i am confused too :'(

Ok from Vista's website: Vista FCU:

This account also has monthly fees check here(I couldn't get the stupid pdf file to open, maybe you'll have better luck getting the details of the charges ::) ).

Once you have a share account ou can open up a checking account. This is the account for which you get a debit (or checking) card.

I'm pretty certain we all had the Classic checking.

Hope that helps a bit. :)

Yep, it's $3/month for the savings account (which is mandatory), with an optional, free, Classic Checking account. And despite the fee it is a good service...clearly pleasing me from the fact I've kept it open :p [Just for the record, I'm not totally insane...it's stayed open for my tax to be paid into, which I can then spend in the summer using the debit card]

Like Ona, obviously I can't comment on other banks, but as she said, no where else will have such attractive cards and checks...! 8)

Argh! I'm so confused who to go with!
So, with the Vista bank you say that you can't find their atms outside of Disney?

Does that mean you can't draw any cash out unless in Disney or you just use another bank's atm and get charged?

If its charge how much is the charge per withdrawal?

So what's not so good about Suntrust? How long does that take to set up if we choose that? Does anyone have any experience with this bank?

And with regards to the fees with Vista? I don't quite understand this. What are the fees for, how much are they and how often do you have to pay them?

Right, with vista you'll basically only have to pay fees of $3 per month. That will give you a savings and checking account with debit card. What are they for? To pay employees wages? :-\ Who knows.

ATMS: you will be able to withdraw cash outside WDW, but most times you will be charged (usually like $1 - $2 a go). But that really won't be an issue unless you are going on a trip. Normally, just withdraw money as you leave the commons. You can always use your checking(debit) card as and when you need it.

Ok cool, that sounds fine. So what are the pros and cons of Suntrust? Anyone know? I just wanna know really what the deciding factor may be between the two banks! I'm so rubbish at making decisions like this!

I went with Vista and haven't had any problems. It's pretty conveniant.
Anytime I know I won't be around a Vista ATM I just use my debit card instead.

The only problems I've heard about people having with Suntrust are with overdrawn fees. My friend went less than a dollar overdrawn and was charged something close to a hundred.
