VISA?

Do you know if Portuguese passport holder have to apply for J-1 visa?

People said  Portugese passport holder didn't have to apply for visa when visiting to the USA. Is that TRUE?   :-\

But how about Portuguese passport holder going to the USA to work [ DIsney INternational College Programme]

 

Can anyone answer my Q?

 

I'm WORRIED that I won't be able to get the VISA
Ppl' say that the Amercan Embassy is kinda demanding.

Yeah I think u will need a J-1 visa, everybody needs a visa as they will be working and living there for at least 3 months. The UK visa application was not so bad- the application forms were a bit of a nightmare but the interview we had to go to basically meant sitting and standing in a queue for 5 hours!! It was very very boring and the interview itself took about 2 mins.

What? I have to sitting and standing in a queue for 5 hours JUST for a 2-minute interview? GOd.
I wonder what the critertia they are based on when judging whether one's can go to the USA. I'm afraid that I cannot answer the Qs well. That means I will not be able to go to FLordia to meet you guys. :'( Is there anyone who can't get through it? sigh!! i'm afraid that I would be one.

hey did u not have any sort of presentation or information pak before u got this job! its worrying that u have no clue about anything!! dnt mean that in a nasty way!lol

The Disney representatives came to Hong Kong to do the presentation and have the interview on 1st APril. I know that Many of you had it MUCH MOre earlier. We know NOTHING about it even the MOST importnat thing-VISA. I have sent a msg to Disney to ask about the visa matter. It just told me that it would send all the stuff I need DIRECTly to the school.

 

I really hope that I will find all information in this forum. After hearing what you guys said about the job, housing, FLorida, etc, I had a CLEARER picture in mind about all these. And my worries alleviated a bit.

i'm apprehensive without knowing things that I NEED to know.

 

If u can find the telephone number for the US Embassy in your country then it will probably be worth while ringing them to find out how you can book an appointment and also more information on the visa and application process.

I dont think they deny that many people, its mainly due to terrorism i think- you'll be fine.

Finally, I got the reply from Disney.
Here it goes.

We are petitioning for the visa on your behalf. You will need to go to the embassy to get the visa in order to work in the US. Please do not go to the embassy until you receive the paperwork from us.

DO the American Embassy ask different people DIFFERent Qs or do they have a set of STANDard Qs ?
Can you tell me what Qs they ask in the interview ?
