Do you know if Portuguese passport holder have to apply for J-1 visa? People said Portugese passport holder didn't have to apply for visa when visiting to the USA. But how about Portuguese passport holder going to the USA to work [ DIsney INternational College Programme]
Yes everyone from a foreign country needs a Visa to work in the US. As a portugese passport holder what you're probably thinking of is the Visa Waiver Program that allows people to visit as tourists (not work) without having a visa. You will need to apply for (probably) a J-1 visa although I'm not 100% sure of what visa you'll need. You should be told all of this by your recruiters as Disney will apply for the Visa on your behalf and then you need to visit the embassy to have the visa put in your passport and validated. Rich
Dear Rich, you are such a nice guy. Thanks so much for giving me details of application for Visa. Thank God. Finally, there is sb to answer my Q. Yes. I have checked the web-site of the American Embassy. It says that ppl; have to apply for J-1 visa for internship. God. I will visit the American Embassy. NO kidding me. Ppl' say that they are kinda demanding. They will ask you difficult Qs. Do you know what exactly they will ask. I'm worried about it.
Are you from Portugal or Hong Kong? Your signature says Hong Kong? Seriously though, doesn't WDWIP help you with that? I know that for Canadians they took care of getting our Visa for us. I didn't have to do a thing. Doesn't WDWIP take care of this anymore?
Yeach. I'm from HONG KONG. I was born in HK. My parents are Hong Kongers. I have got the Portugeses passport. Yeach. I had sent a mail msg to the American Consultant. The reply was not very helpful. They asked me to ask the company directly what paper I need. I had also sent a mail msg to Disney asking about whether I need the Visa holding the Portuguese passport. It hadn't answered me yet.
