Ok, can anyone tell me how long does it take to process your visa once you've had an appointment at the emmbassy and is there a way I can fast track the process (maybe pay extra or somthing?)?

I think I am one of the exceptions who had problems getting a Visa. I had one wrong form with me and then there was a big mix up with the post office and i only got my visa in time by the skin of my teeth. Make sure you definetly have the right forms, photos etc with you

i had my visa appointment on the wed and had my passport back byt the sat!! I was only in the embassy for an hour too, which was really weird considering everyone else i have spoken to was there for 3 or more! Definately get an early appointment!!!!

i booked my visa date on wed, when i was on the phone to them they said that the only date that was available was the 29th may and i wouldn't have been able to have getten my passport back in time as i leave on the 5th. cut a long story short as i was on the phone they had some one cancel so i got the 9th may. the man who i spoke to said that if i had have taken the 29th that i could have phoned up and tried for a cancelled slot. so thats an option.

belfast seems to have a quicker turnaround, but that's likely because they see less folk so you have less 'queue' time for the visa printout thingy to go on your passport. Plus royal mail do next day for special delivery.

So it seems some visa's take about a week and some take a couple of days, but does anyone know if you could pay the embassy extra to guarantee the visa back in 2 days or something?

    depends on your embassy.

belfast - is on next day delivery anyway, so that's as fast as you can get!

london - you pay the courier service more to have it delivered on a specific day. my parents did that. it didn't work though and came later than they asked for. not sure how quickly you can get them to send though because of the way they print them and get them into the passports etc.

oh ok, well my interview is in london on 11th june and im supposed to be leaving for disney on 19th june. So im not to sure weather to book my own flight for the 19th or let disney arrange it for me once ive got my visa. ???

well even if you did book it yourself and find out you cant make the 19th, it costs like £35 to change the date of the flight, with virgin atlantic and sta anyway im sure itll be the same with most. . .so may be worth the risk!

my visa came a lot quicker than i expected though! my interview was on the tuesday and i had it back on friday! that was london, so as long as nothing comes up at the embassy or anything you should get it back in time!
