Hey so I was waitlisted, and then got an offer with only a month and a half before I go. Is there any paperwork , or medical informaiton then I'm going to need. How does the whole visa process work? ANy infor would be greatly appreciated. Kristen from Yummy jobs will be contacting me this week but i'd like to hear it from people who've gone through it. thanks
You could start to look for some medical insurance, you'll need it for your first 4 months at least until Disney offers you their medical program - some people get medical insurance to cover them for the full time they are down there though and opt out of the Disney medical. Check with a few places to find the best prices. A good thing to ask about is if there is a deductable and if the medical is paid up front should you need to use it. If you go on the Disney Medical the price of it will be taken off your paycheque once you start on it. If you are worried at all about having enough money while you are working there then I would lean more towards getting a full year package from somebody in Canada.
Do you know how much the Disney medical is each week, or what it includes? Is there a site with information on it?
I would recommend going with RBC insurance for the first 4 months for sure, if not for the whole thing. I have already bought mine and it only cost $282 for the 4 months. It doesn't have a deductable, so if by chance anything happened to me, I wouldn't have to pay anything. I went into my local travel agency and got it there. They give you a brochure on everything and what it includes and all that. When you are talking to the travel agent, just let them know what it's for and how long you are going to need it for, and then they will take care of the rest. It's really easy. They print you off a Proof of Purchase sheet and then you're all ready to go
Does anyone know how much the Disney medical insurace is? Is it charged per month or do they just charge you for the whole 6 months (after the 4 you pay for) thanx
I'm not sure how much it is since I didn't have it myself, but I know they deduct every week from your paycheck...
I have no idea how there are so many people on this website that have gone and are back and nobody can say anything about Disney Insurance. I'm thinking I'm just going to purchase 12 months insurance. I can get it for $575 and that's for a full year. That works for me and since I know nothing about Disney insurance there is nothing that makes me want to just buy four months of insurance.
Hey Everyone, Kristen from Yummy called me today and I asked her the price of the Disney insurance. She said she'd get back to me in a couple of days (their Disney contact is away). I'll let you know if I hear anything! - Jenn
Because I know nothing about the Disney medical insurance I have no idea which would be better but at some point on my son's first program we heard a figure of $10 per week - it may have even been on this forum -but I don't really know how reliable that price is. Anyway based off of that figure he bought insurance from home for the total time he would be away - it either worked out to be about the same price or a bit cheaper and he knew exactly what he was getting and what the coverage was for sure. I do not know what would be covered under the Disney medical. He also did not want more charges coming off of his weekly paycheques. I think if you find a really good plan here, for a decent price, its probably best to go with that. I hope you find out some information on the Disney coverage, it would be so helpful for everybody leaving soon and trying to decide.
Does anyone know how much we (canadians) have to pay for our visa????? On the disneyCRP website it has a price listed, so I'm just curious I haven't been asked to pay anything Visa related yet.
I think that there is a fee around 35-40 for Canadians...i read that somewhere on this site in one of the Visa topics.
