Totally confussed after getting that email from Yummy jobs with Visa instructions attached. It says included in your pack is I-797? - Nope, that will no doubt arrive in the post? It also says book your appointment now. So I phoned up only to be told that i needed a case number? Its in the top corner of the I-797 form. The I-797 which i dont have. And according to the mail i got, won't have until Mid November? Or is the "case number" the receipt number that is included in the email. If we cant book an appointment untill we get the form and thats mid November. Things are getting cut very fine! Start of the Process and im already baffled. I also had a look at the form you fill out before your interview DS-156. Seems to be straight forward apart from one question. Have you visited the US before - When. Problem. Yes I have! 4 times in the last 5 years, easy. However i have also been a number of times when I was younger and I have no idea how many times or the dates of those times, plus it was under my parents passport. What will i fill in here???
Hi Citywalk, Im extremly confused too. I think the number they asked for was possibly the 'case number' my begings with an E i think. Ive had to do this before and last time Yummy said to juts say we had recieved a certainb form and if they wouldnt allow us to book the interview to keep ringing (as the poeple answering the phones are always different) so weird... As for the form . I remeber last time i didnt know the exact dates etc. I put in the month and year and randomly guessed the days....I took my mums passport and they didnt even ask to see them...They call you up to a cashier desk ask you a question..probably are you gonna be mickey or something. Sign a paper and then you just wait for another cashier person to say that everythings fine and your passport will be delivered soon... Dont worry about it. Just (if you can) bring your mums passport or even just write to Michele at Yummyas shes quite helpful. amd explain the situation. I know this probably hasnt really answered any questions but i can remeber panicking last time and everything was fine! xx xx
feeling a little better now. so the case number is actually the receipt number on the email mine starts, eac- etc. Michele says dont worry about every year you have been. So i have gone as far back as my own 2 passports. Went to bok my Visa apointment yesterday and they said they where not taking November bookings yet anyway. xx
Michelle told me u get a letter a month before u r due to go. coz it take up to 4 weeks to sort things out. i wnt my visa date in Jan that the only time i can take off work or Xmas week so i can me at me other half for Xmas
