VCR/DVD player?

Hey guys Quick question here, do most roomates pool their money to buy a DVD player. As I'm assuming the apartments aren't equipped with such things. Or do most people make do without. I'm just thinking of purchasing a little travel size dvd player but it wouldn't be necessary if there's already one in the apartment.

Hey Jo,

I would think that you can buy the dvd when you get to florida. This way, it will not take room in your luggage and you can see if someone in your apt already has one. Also, it will not be very difficult to get one either.

If anyone in your apt has a laptop Jo u could watch dvds on that.

Im taking my laptop its a small screen but still means that i can watch dvds - take my sex and the city box sets! tho doubt we'll get much time to watch dvds - but maybe on a quiet night sometime!

Most apartments have inherited TVs.. mine has a TV and a VCR... DVDs are cheap here so i wouldn't be worrying about such things!

Many apt's have vcr's or dvd players. Usually the roomies throw their money together and buy one. As we are all from different countries FAR away no one would even think about taking it home, so many are being left behind. If you won't have one in the apt. and also no laptop you could still buy one in Florida. But you really shouldn't worry about it already, it will all sort itself out once you are there. We didn't have a dvd player or vcr and I NEVER EVER thought about that lol. You are sooo busy with so many fun things that you will soon forget about such things. And if you really have the desire to have a video or dvd night there will surely be someone who can help you out!

Dont worry im not wanting any quiet nights - cant wait for the craziness to start esp as uni is a nightmare at the min!
Was thinking more for if i was ever not feeling well.. but last year i got used to dealing with hangovers in time to go out again the following night Couldnt deal with staying in if everyone else is out having fun!

Last yr i partied in the states 4 out of 7 nights. Sometimes we'd be like we'll stay in but by 12 someone would be like im bored and would say shall we go out so we always did. Think from sounds of things the commons will be parties every night!

lol i have no work motivation either, went 2 bed early after u went, then i had a txt from tom @ 2 to tell me he missed me, bless him lol, the martin sent me a txt at 6am cos hed just got up and wanted some 'early morning entertainment' thats all ill say!

I know that with Vista Way and Chatham, you could rent TVs and VCR/DVD players.

Now, if you REALLY want to have fun, pool together for a Playstation 2 or X-Box, then donate it to some kind soul *raises her hand* after your program is over. Then you can play video games, too.

 

One of the guys that is coming down from Canada is bringing his X-box, but you can get dvd players for so cheap so i don't think it is a big deal

 

yeah casey's taking his x-box and NHL game, lol, so yeah thats one person with one.
