    Helloooo!

I'm filing my tax return :( to get my refund and I'm a bit confused. On form 1040NR-EZ, page 2, note D, it says 'enter current nonimmigrant status and date of change'. If I did the ICP on a J1 visa and I'm now back in the UK, what does that make my non-immigrant status?!

Most of us have used a company in the US to file our tax return for us. I was on a J1 and was told i can't file mine electronically so mine is the 1040NR. I'm using the same company i've used since i did the Q1 in 2003, American Tax and Business Shoppe. They just ask you a couple of questions and fill out the form for you. They then have your refund sent to them, deduct their fee and mail you a check for the difference. There website is
    http://www.ameritaxshoppe.com/.

I have there phone number and email address if you want it too.

Otherwise i guess if you want to fill it out yourself, i'm not certain but i think you would put N/A as you are no longer in the US. Does it ask you int he form what date you left the US? If not i guess you might want to put it there as the date of change , as its the date you left. I hate tax time.

    Hope this helps.

I did my own tax return, and "N/A" was accepted as my answer to that question.
