I want to start a US bank account so that I can transfer funds in from Canada before I go and save up money in US dollars. The main appeal is that when the Canadian dollar is high, i'll buy a bunch of US dollars. Has anyone else started a US bank account and if so...any recommendations for a bank? This one here allows me to take money out at no cost at any Publix.
I was looking into this and was going to get a Vista FCU account once I get over there, they are run by Cast Members and have quite a close liknk with Disney and you get characters on the debit cards and the cheques and stuff I think they have changed their name to Partners now though, Google is our friend
I have Sun Trust and I love that! It's easy access to the bank to since it's at Wallmart! I know a lot of people like bank America too...
if you read thru some of the advice on the website (ie, not the forum) they tend to recommend "Partners", they also recommend that on the Disney college/ICP program website
ok is partners only located in Orlanod our is it something across the US, Id like to do the same and start putting money away now.
ilovetink, if you bank with TD Canada Trust, you can have an American account. I'm not sure about other banks, but I know with TD you can for sure.
