Hey everyone, I'm going back to Florida next year for a holiday and I was thinking of some more unusual things to do having done the parks soooo many times - still love them but it's nice to do something different!

What did you enjoy doing that was a bit unusual?

    Some of my favourites:
    * Mouseboats on Seven Seas Lagoon - you have to do this, so much fun!!
    * Opening ceremonies at the parks - if you can get there this early!
    * Walking along the Boardwalk and also having the kitchen sink ice cream at Beaches and Cream!
    * Looking around the resorts and their shops - Grand Floridian and Polynesian especially.
    * Eating at 50's Prime Time Cafe

Hey Gareth, thanks for that but I have already booked.

I rang around a few travel agents but they could not beat the price I got from Travel City Direct - just under £4,000 for 4 people flying Cardiff --> Sanford for 2 weeks in an executive villa with private pool and a rental car, 14 day Disney tickets, double baggage and prebooked seats.

Thought I would give you all the info as it's good to have the details on the competitors!!!

ill have a think and see what i can come up with for unusual things, been a while wince i was there, hoping to get out there myself at some time next year

I am going back in January, and I am SO excited! I know how you feel about doing the parks so much so I am doing a couple different things:
    - at epcot were going to scuba in the living seas
    - the Key to the Kingdom tour at Magic Kingdom
    - renting a boat in the seven seas lagoon (havnt donr that yet!) and maybe parasailing!
    - there is also a morning tour at the animal kingdom that lets you feed the animals and stuff

I also found out that a number of resorts do little thingd themselves that will take you around and talk about the history and where they came from. I am also going to visit people who are still cast members, so this is going to be a LOT cheaper than it would to pay it in full ;D
check out the website! they have so much stuff to do there!

    hope this helps!

Thanks Sara, yeah the scuba sounds very tempting!!!

I took my Dad on the Keys to the Kingdom, it's 50% cast discount so get in touch with any cast members you know there!! It was really good for the information about the park and everything, you got to see the parade floats and Spectro floats, backstage at Haunted Mansion and you also go into the Utilidors for a little bit but not very far really - you see a lot more as a Cast Member - but for someone who is not/has not been a Cast Member its especially good to see backstage!

    Hey there!
I hope you enjoy your trip back to Disney!! Wish I was returning once again. But here's a couple of things I recommend doing while down there. Go to EPCOT and do the "Dolphins in Depth" program. It's so neat!! They have room for 15 guests at a time. I signed up with a friend, and it ended up that there were only three of us there, so we got to pretty much spend the whole time with the dolphins ourselves instead of having to take turns. But even if there are 15 guests, it's still sure to be a blast!! Also, go to Magic Kingdom, and if you don't know where Tinker Bell lives. Take a look around and find her home!! Most Cast Members don't even know where she lives in the Magic Kingdom, and once you find her, the guests around you will want to take a look too!! Let me know if you don't know, and I'll give you a hint!! So there's a couple of more things for you to do. Have fun!!

Did you manage to finish a Kitchen Sink??!  i take my hat off to you if you did! 8)

I can't remember what i used to do now its been that long!!! The polynesian is great for relaxing by their pool and snoozing on the hammocks - it was a great place to watch the night water parade too (do they still do that?)
The Luau is great fun too if you're in a group :)

@Jacqueline - I really don't have a clue where Tinkerbell lives!! but you've got me really intrigued!!can you give us a clue??  :)

When I was 12, my mom made me go on this tour with peter pan. We had to run and skip and do lots of wierd things while searching for captain hook or something. It was certianly unusual. I don't know if this is unusualy but when I stay at the resorts I love to go buy the grape and cheese platter. It's really good. Mmm and going to the Caribbean Beach resort for their friend chicken meal. It's so good. The adventurers club on Pleasure Island is so good.

    In the Parks
Epcot: I love to go into the house of the future in innovations, and trying all the different kinds of Coke in the coke place.
MK: Carousel of Progress, lots of people don't even know it's there but it's awesome.
AK: Ok it's no unusual but Tarzan Rocks is my fave thing there. They are getting rid of it though. Oh and walking along the trail with the Monkeys.
MGM: the Prime Time Cafe. Good food and a really embarassing but fun experience.

The Carousel of Progress is a brilliant show. It's got a groovy catchy theme song, some feckin' great animatronics...

And best of all, it was worked on directly by Uncle Walt himself... Granted, he worked on the Disneyland version-but this is a clone of it (only obviously with an updated final scene)...

Also, since CoP at Disneyland became their Innoventions, it's the only one in the world! :D

I love the carousel and it's never busy, so if it's damn hot out it's easy to get in there and it's nice and cool. That song will stick with you for life after you watch it.

    Hey there!
Sorry it took so long to respond.....I don't have internet access at home, so I have to rely on getting to the library once in a while. Anyway, some of you were wondering where Tinkerbell lives in Magic Kingdom and asked for a clue. So here's your clue. Behind Cinderella's Castle is a store called Tink's Treasures. If you go in the door directly across from the Carousel, and go immediately to your left and go down to a child's level you will see a little key-hole. Take a look inside!!! I came across this one day when I notcied it was the only one with a keyhole and wanted to see what was inside. Surprise!!! Ask a cast-member working there if they're aware of that!! You'll be surprised at how many say no!! Have fun looking!!

Another of my favorite things to do at the parks is go to see the different parades!! I was espeically saddened whent hey took the "Tapestry of Nations" parade away! That was one of the best!! But Jammin' Jungle is always a good one too!! And Spectro-Magic!!

Hope to hear from you soon!! Let me know if you need some more help, or if you find her!!

Don't forget to find this when you go!! Write it down!! Other guests will see you looking and likely come over too!! It's like sharing a piece of the Disney Magic yourself with others!! I miss that Disney Magic!! You can be the first one at Magic Kingdom to wake Tinkerbell up in the morning too!! You just have to be the lucky person they pick!!
