If you figure you're going to go 3 or 4 times, and plan on checking out Halloween Horror Nights (which, from what I hear, you should!) - the ticket pays for itself! The premiere pass also serves as a Fastpass of sorts I think after 4pm, so that's an extra handy dandy little feature! I think most people on the CRP who want to have access to more roller-coaster type rides and what not usually end up getting an annual. However, if it's a park you figure you may only go to a couple times, you may not necessarily need the annual - you're really the best judge on that front! :)

Unless you have a car then the top Premium Pass is a little pointless. Everyone here has bought the basic $150 annual pass which for this year only has christmas week as the blackout dates. Halloween night tickets are only about $40 each anyway so that will not beak the bank to buy seperately

Yeah from last time id say a normal pass is all you need. . .a premier pass though i havnt heard of it, i imagine gets you in on certain dates that you cant otherwise, but they tend to be dates when itll be extremely busy anyway, holidays etc.
ive definately included one in my arrival budget! haha. . . and now ive discovered the true brilliance of the I-RIDE trolley ill definately be making more use of it! ;D

Im definately getting one as soon as I arrive, love universal for the proper adrenaline rides! Reckon we will only need the basic one, like Arron said, the blackout dates are over Xmas and New year and it will be busy, and pretty high chance we'll be working like dawgs over that time anyway!!! Im sooo excited, I love The Hulk ride!!!

Just to remind you guys, the Hulk and Spiderman and similar rides might not be there much longer. Disney owns those characters now, god knows what'll happen to the rides!

OH MY GOD NEW RIDE, I never knew about this Rip,Ride,Rock it thing, just looked it up...how amazingly awesome!!! I love coasters so much!!! The fast pass thing does sound appealing but like u said if your the only one, plus if you go when its queit the queues are only around 10mins anyway!! So excited, think i might buy one before i go as well...definately one of our big first outtings should be to Universal!!! x

If you guys want to spend your money on a premier pass than that's up to you but remember you guys are here for a year and will visit many times, so it's not like you have to all the rides in one day. You could go and just do Universal for half day then go back for Islands another.

I went 3 weeks ago, it was a sunday and we walked straight onto every ride. Mummy, dueling Dragons, spiderman were all 10 minutes each. i know it will get busier in some seasons but i don't quite see the need for the fast pass which you can't use till after 4pm anyway

Disney Dude is right. During some seasons, universal parks are absolutelly empty. I was there last november right after halloween horror nights, in Jersey Week, and it felt like a ghost town. In Universals defense, Disney wasn´t that busy either (walked right into the boats a Pirates), but the regular season pass will work great. Also remember, when things are busy there, they open the single riders lane, and it's pretty quick too. Spend that money somewhere else!!!

Another good tip. If you're going to Universal Parks, and plan on spending the whole day there, the meal tickets rule. You can eat as much as you want in 4 reastaurants in each park, and it's 20 bucks. So you can get there early, have breakfast, ride some coasters, eat a snack, ride more coasters, have a nice meal, see some shows, have a snack, ride some more coasters, have dinner and then leave. Hahaha. :) Also for 5 bucks more you get the special cup or whatever its called with unlimited refills.

Yep, the souvenir mug is only meant to be valid for the day of purchase but every time i go, i just wrap it inside a coat or something and never have any issues. then i can just refill my mug all day long for only 70c a time. For me, a $150 universal pass and the souvenir mug is a bargain for such a great park.

Haven't done the meal deal yet but i never eat much when i go to Universal

Yeah I won't lie I went in april and the longest wait was 45 minutes and that was for a practically brand new ride the fast passes are not worth it

I've never been to Universal before... my family is just so Disney crazy that we didn't want to spend one minute of our vacay out of Disney but obviously if I'm there for an entire year, I'm going to want to put some time aside lol.

Even if you're there only on vacation for a few days, Universal is worth it. Awesome parks.
