hey everyone, just wondering if cast members are responsible for washing and ironing their own uniforms? Cos if we are i'm gonna be the one in the creased uniform with the iron shaped burn!!! lol jen xxx
It's up to you I think ! You can have up to 5 costumes at a time, and you can either sign them in and out every day and get them to wash them, or you can take them home and wash them yourself. The downside to letting them wash it is that sometimes sizes are funny so it may not fit properly! and also that it takes longer in the mornings- but then you don't have to bother washing/ironing it- so it may be worth that!! You mean that you the uniform is at Epcot and you wear ir when you arrive there?? And you leave it when you finish your day???
I think that's one of the options yeah. Otherwise you can pick up a max of 5 and just wash them yourself. Charlotte x
I like to wash my own costume as I much prefer the fresh smell of my own laundry detergent over the one that Disney uses... Plus, I couldn't be bothered to go and pick up new costumes every week and have to lug them on the buses.
I was glad that I could just throw my costume in the washer and dryer without having to iron them LOL I picked up new ones every once in a while, but always kept 1 or 2 at home to make sure I have some spare ones. Sometimes they will not have your size or aprons or anything else you might need. Julia
Then you have a problem lol! They will give you bigger sized things. I know that they always had a problem with the aprons, so I never gave mine back! Julia
Thanks Charlotte and Julia was wondering what the deal was with the costumes as it sounded quite time consuming going to costumes every morning. How far is the costume place from the pavillions? xxx
The wardrobe is where you get off the bus ( in front of World Showcase ). From there you can take another bus to your pavillion. You also get a locker at wardrobe where you could put in a spare uniform for "emergencies". I never used mine though. Julia
All depends what you end up doing in operations. Like if you work at the MK you may get one of those lovely yellow striped uniforms, but if you work a ride you may get a uniform that corresponds to the ride.

I hope I get a good job. Operations has alot of good things you can do and alot of well, not so good.
