So I cannot wait until I get across to the states! There is only one slight worry I have! By the time I get to orlando I will only be 20 this meaning I will be underage to drink etc...! Will I be able to go out clubbing etc I know that in citywalk for example if you are under 21 you get a band around your wrist so the bar staff know ur underage is this possible anywhere else? Also for example will I be left out for example on monday night uk lads because I'm underage or is this not an issue?

Lads...not an issue. All will be well dude.

Clubs/bars...Varies from venue to venue. Some places are straight up no entry unless you're 21. Some will do the wristband thing. If you do get caught underage in a club/bar with a drink you could potentially get in serious trouble. It's not like home where you would get your drink taken off you, it could potentially lead to the police getting involved. At the very least you will get thrown out and maybe your entire party.

i know that disney are very strict about no alcohol in any of the wellness apartments... and if they ever catch you with a drink in the commons they will pretty much send you home on the spot

You may not have caught this because it is a post sometime back. Disney canned 8 people because they found an empty bottle of liquor in a wellness appartment. Nobody owned up to it and nobody squealed - so they all got to go home. There is just no pardon.

Yeah I know how strict they are with alcohol in the wellness appartments I was more interested in being able to go out at night and how strict they are

I was worried about that too. It doesn't worry me that I can't drink (although I will miss it), but I don't wanna miss out meeting people and getting to know other people. My friend from Canada has just started and is in a wellness apartment, her room mates have been going out to clubs that 18 year olds can get into and have been getting over 21s to buy them drinks. I wont be taking this risk, but it's down to personal choice :)

I wrote that comment mostly for those who are reading along to let them know how serious it can be. I also told my son that no doubt some of those security people are frustrated policemen and probably keep score on their office walls as to how many they catch each season. Now that is just my fantasy - but is it so far off? (I was a security guard before going to college.)

I wasn't even old enough to go to the bars when I went on my ICP. I took the alcohol/wellness thing incredibly seriously. I came home one time to a bottle of beer on my table (the roommates had had friends over) and I chucked it out the front door and reported them. I was not taking any chances - I was at Disney to work and make magic, not to get kicked out of the United States.
People don't always realize that getting termed for alcohol can also mean you're denied access to the USA ever again. When you're being sponsored in that country, they don't take kindly to you breaking the law.
But, not being able to drink didn't mean much. Of course I was on the ICP, so my hours were different, and my role was different, etc., but I had a fantastic time getting to know people from all over the world. I had friends from everywhere, mostly the USA and Europe and not drinking was never a problem. I was seeing a guy down there and there was only one time where he went to a party that the host didn't want underagers at. No big deal at all.

Hahaha let me tell you something... My friend Craig on my first program was 19... hahha trust me he was drunk a lot and never got in trouble. A lot of the bars will let you in and put HUGE black X's on your hands... Totally fine. You won't feel left out. If you want to drink... It's all about being smart about it. No alcohol in your apartment and if you are at a party at someone elses apartment everytime there is a knock at the door put that drink down... and usually when it's security... the person who opens the door Yells that it's security. The only bars that I can think of that you won't be able to be let into are Blue Martini, Howl at the Moon and Chillers. But Cowboys, Buffalo Wild Wings, HOB, you are good to go. Trust me you won't feel left out at all Kyle!!

Also as an underager on my contract (and Craig's wife ;) due to alcoholic influences...our witnesses were our friend Kirsten and vodka...it's a long story), I wouldn't be worried if I were you. Going down I was 19 and turned 20, and I thought I would be sober for the year. And then my first night there I was handed a beer and no one cared. You just have to be smart about it and/or have amazing friends. As Ashley said everyone always yells Security or Drinks down when there is someone at the door, just let other people carry it all the time. One girl on my program who was underage somehow got her housing ID made without the huge UNDER 21 on it and would drink everywhere and not care.
As for going out the big black X's kinda suck, but you can always predrink, or get a fake ;) Sometimes at these places people would stand close together and drink out of other people's drinks but be careful if you do that, the bouncers/bar security have crazy hawk eyes and spot this from so far away! A few people almost got fired for doing it at House of Blues!
As for drinking in your wellness, my roommate always had liqour in our apartment and it freaked me out big time. I made her lock it in her locker and one time she hid it under clothes in the washing machine (shows you how often you wash clothes...just buy new ones! ;) ). It just adds an extra stresser that isn't necessary when you have tons of friends who's apartments are allowed booze.
It's definitely not worth getting termed for, but live it up and have fun! You definitely won't be left out or left behind!
Oh and try not to get loser drunk and stumble around the Commons...my friend was like that and we had to convince security she had really bad food poisoning at 3am..not good!
You can also go to SOB if you're underage!! They have such good fishbowls and baller international parties!! :D

Just wondering...If you're over 21 and you're caught drunk do you get in trouble??

Within the Commons or wherever you live, not unless you are causing a massive disturbance. There are plenty of people stumbling around drunk...just behave! Drinking in your apartment is the same, providing nobody complains about the noise or whatever then you can be as drunk as you want!

Outside world, I suppose it's the same as here. Technically being drunk in a public place is an offence but it is whether an officer decides you are a danger to yourself or others as to whether they do anything.

    Thanks :)
I figured as long as you're not wreaking havoc you won't get in trouble LOL :D

Don't go to a movie themed party as Borat though...security don't have a sense of humour when it comes to a dude wearing a mankini. Although you're a girl so you won't do that!
