From what I've heard there are a lot of us on the same arrival date!! I can't wait, I am having problems deciding how much to save for excess baggage charges tho!! xx
I know... lol... I'm afraid of packing too much.. but then again we have to pack up our lives for a year sooo what really constitutes as too much????
It's up to each individual airline how much is too much. Usually you get 2 suitcases (usually under 50 pounds) and 2 carry on items. If thats not the guidelines you were wondering about then I have no clue either lol.

From the U.K the airlines only usually allow 1 suitcase (around 23 kg) and 1 piece of hand luggage, so it's going to be very hard too pack for a whole year in 1 suitcase!
I have no clue where u got that from ?? I flew with Virgin from NYC to London had no problem with 2 suitcases. I am also pretty sure u can take 2 suitcases if u fly with BA. Or just choose an American airline! Maybe charter airlines have some other restrictions? ??? Her in Germany you can always take 2 suitcases to the US. Weird :-\
yeah,im flying with globespan and i have a 30kg limit,but thats only because im on a budget ticket - they go up to 40kg if you book the most expensive ticket and if you have more bags you just have to pay extra at the airport!!! No idea why you thought it was 23kg?! but yeah your right about the 1 piece of hand luggage - bit of a nightmare,have to find a bag big enough for my laptop and all my usual junk thats the right size for cabin luggage!
That's what I was told last time I went over to Florida and we paid for the extra luggage allowance to make it up to 30kg, may have just been that airline ??? I've booked my flight with Virgin so i'll check with them, thanks for letting me know though, I can take more clothes now! ;D
I think there is a law in the airline industry that your hand luggage allowance is plus a book for reading during the flight, umbrella, camera, jacket and I think it was the laptop as well. You could google it and have a argument with the check in clerk. lol
