Me as accepted particià nts , for the internat. program received the email about this new complex we may be sent.. The treehouse villas... does anyone knows anything about it? is it near the other ones?? anything...
I did a quick search around for this and here's what I found: http://www.solarius.com/dvp/wdw/institute.htm The villas used to be a hotel for the Disney Institute but closed-and were expected to become a DVC property. Looks like they might have become CM accomodation instead! KC
They were being used as housing for the CMs in the advanced internship program I believe. You can see them from the one golf course and they looked in pretty bad shape, but I think people were living in some of them. I used to think they were the coolest things!! Shan
We were told about them yesterday as an option for where we'd be living during our time as CMs. I cant remember who said it-or when, but I think someone said something to the effect of they became a bit dilapidated and stopped being used. They apparently refurbished them and started using them as CM accommodation *nods* KC
it's true they are being used for dec people, currently brazilian and australian interns live there, but heard on the rumour mill *which is always going at the commons* that they are being used for Internationals... even the port orleans boat from the resorts to downtown disney say that when the captain goes past... so who knows! they have done them up now shan, cos they were in bad condition, they wanted to demolish them due to the building of saratoga springs resort, but its on protected wet land... and now bein accomodation for CMs, they look really nice! Sara
Sara is the Commons pretty full at the moment - do you reckcon that us newbies from the Uk will be put there? Where about's in Disney World are they?
omg!!!! I wanted to be in the commons with everyone else :-[ :-[ I hope this is not a bad thing how far away is it from everywhere? what are the really like now?? I'm setting stressed again lol Helen xx
Lol deep healing breaths! I was put in Chatham when I first got here and I didn't disintegrate or anything so don't worry, you'll be fine I hear they're really nice - Kojak informed me that a bunch of new CPs arrived there the other day
I had a look in a pretty old Disney guide book that my dad has an if im right then they are near downtown disney. In other words we will be on the other side of the insterstate and goodness know's how we will get to the commons ??? We could probably walk to downtown disney though and obviously it's closer to work How am I ever gonna get to the outlet mall now?
Hey guys I found this about the villas - they sure look strange! http://www.mouseplanet.com/dtp/wdwguide/4_Accommodations/VDI_photo_tour_treehouse_villas.htm
Strange but interesting. They remind me of the Odyssey Center in Epcot-that big brown building that used to be a restaurant over towards Test Track. Very 70s Epcot chic KC
Ok them photos are starting 2 really stress me out, all I think of when I see pics like that is spiders and snakes!!!! :-[ :-[ Helen xx
Sorry Helen I didn't mean to stress you out! It hopefully shouldn't be too bad if we are put in them as I think that photo was from before they were done up. I don't do spiders or bugs so if I end up with one in my apartment I think im gonna have to call on a nice hunky guy to catch it for me
Hey everyone....The tree house villas are only for college program castmembers right now from brazil and Australia. If the commons dosent have room for you you will most likly be put into Chatham Square. Thats where i was put (roomie with Chloe) we were there for about 6 weeks. Finnaly got moved over. If you get sent somewhere you will get to the commons eventually. When we all moved over we got split up and went from a 6 person to an 8 person apartment. I hate the 8 person apartment it sucks ass, im not gonna lie. But im hardly home anyway so no biggie. ....Chase see ya at the canadian pavillon.....get ready for your throw in
@ OttawaChikky You better tell the throw-in to get ready for me, we're gonna party COLLEGE style! The lsat 3 months have been time of my life, and I don't plan on it ending anytime soon... Chase
