Heya Guys. I fly out 12th of Sept, and me being me, i decided to be my nosey self and see if most people travel after the year is up at disney? Does anyone know if the flights are expensive and stuff??? ALSO...is it true to rent a car you have to be 21 out there?!?! Love me xxx
Hey Emmy I would like to travel after I have finished my year for sure! Not sure how or where (I know i'll want to go to California and New York at some point when over there), or how much I will be able to spend! As for car rental, yes you must be 21, however for 21-24 year olds there is usually a young driver surcharge, also its worth noting that your licence is only valid for 6 months after arrival, so after 6 months if you continue to drive you are effectively driving without a license... How that can be backed up I am not sure? Incidentally i'll be 25 by the time we finish heh Colin
to be honest, it's mostly Foodies that travel after their time here....if you can save enough money in merch then people take trips during the year. I've only known of one leaving group from merch since I've been here who've been on a trip when they've left and it was only for about 5 days....But get out of Orlando if you can...you wouldn't believe the amount of people who've said what a shame it is that I haven't been able to (money/time off/people to go with problems got in the way!!) also, re: car rental, there are some places that will rent to you under 21...but it's mostly car rental places on Disney Property...Budget @ the Double Tree Resort and Avis @ The Hilton! (I think Avis is better!)...and don't forget with renting a car, that they hold a lot of money from you as a deposit, so you need to have that in the bank to start with...and then when they quote you $28 a day rental, they add another $40 or so on top of that for insurance and don't tell you that when they're giving you a quote....so it actually ends up being about $70 a day!! x x x

I really really wana travel after i finish my year! Deffo to Cali...hot surfers!!??? hehe Even if its just for a couple of weeks, i reckon it would be such an experience!! I wana do Cancun (is that how u spell it!?) for spring break but im guessing you dont get enough time off for that!?? Ahh im so excited xxx
hey.. apparently some companies will let you rent from 18 yrs old.. bit more expensive than if your older.. but cheaper than buying of you are only wanting it for a short while! x
Just without the car breaking down bit cos that would be a pain!! Spring Break is a really busy time here...you forget that it's not just universities...it's all the schools too...it's kinda like their easter holiday! I'm sure you can get time off if you ask for it early enough...but cancun is a crazy party place whatever time of year you go!!! x x x
I'd really love to do some traveling too.California would be awesome.I found a few rental companies in Orlando on the internet that allow 18 year olds to rent cars, so I'll be doing some traveling on days off for sure.

I'm gonna go on a road trip after i've finished the year. I've always wanted to so i think i'm going to buy a car then just drive hopefully i will meet people that finish the same time and would like to come with that way we could share the driving and cover more area. I think i will start in the florida keys then end up in LA seeing everything that i want to see along the way. But if i get strapped for time sell the car then get on a plane and end up where i want to be!!
Im not too fussed where i travel...just as long as i do!! Deffinetly gona try and save loads of money before i go so i dont have to worry too much about saving while im out there! Im soooo excited and i dont go until sept! hehe xxx
