I've searched but can't find anything about this. Just wondering how much in total it costs to actualy go on the programme. I've heard of a $60 deposit to ensure you'll be going but I was just wondeing about insurance and visa costs, all that stuff.

    Thanx

Oh shit I don't remember all of it. I had a health insurance from back home for the first little while and then Disney offered you different health insurance categories after some time. I took the cheapest one LOL I don't recall how much it was but it was really cheap. Other than that I know the VISA thing changed. My VISA was quite cheap, but I've heard it's different now. It's hard to tell since things change so fast and steadily. It's like they raised your income but also your loan. I took about $800 with me and paid the flight extra. I also had a credit card with me and spent a fortune out of my home bank account. It all depends on how much you wanna go on trips, party, go shopping...You will also have to pay your first rent right away when you arrive.
Sorry I couldn't help much, but you can surely find out at the embassy how much the VISA will be and for the rest you should take a credit card with you LOL

Thanks, Im expectin to be payin out alot with partyin an shoppin through the year and will be gettin as much in my bank as possible over the next year or so. Does disney make you pay for flights etc? I was thinking of doing camp America for experience and that would have cost about £300-£400 to take part in (inc flights, insurace, visa, an accomidation) Does the IP have a some sort of standard price?

I remember my flight was about USD 750 and we had to pay it after arriving in Florida. After we completed our contract Disney paid for the flight back. I guess it was a little different for every country, as I know of others who could also book their own flight to Orlando. The germans got their flights booked and had to pay for it the day after arrival. It kinda sucked cause usually flights are not THAT expensive. Good thing was everyone that started the same week was flying together. It's probably best if you talk to the recruiters about the costs, they will surely be able to help you out. It's hard to calculate in advance, cause it's so different for every country.
Best thing financially was getting your tax back after the year. I got like 800 bucks :)

Will you be working foods or merch?? Cause as a merchie you will need to save up as much money as possible. There are so many great ways to spend it there LOL I know what I am talking about, I don't even wanna talk about how much money I spent hehe ::) But you don't regret a dime you are spending there, cause it's what this year's about....having fun and living life to the fullest!

LOL Sarah I hear ya about the shopping thing. Don't even ask how many suitcases I could fill with the clothes I bought. Haha.
Merch was fun, I was a merchie all the way, but it leaves you with no money. You have enough to live but you need extra money for trips, shopping and all the fun stuff. My grandparents had a good timing with giving me a LOT of money all of a sudden while I was down in Florida. I spent it all LOL

I too was a Merchie. Spent and absolute FORTUNE while I was there. The program itself doesn't cost very much at all. I don't know about all the visa stuff because I'm Canadian. The money you have to put in to getting on the program is peanuts compared to the money you'll make and spend...or as I referred to it as "reinvest in the american economy". I too must thank my great aunt for her lovely contribution to my disney adventures (although I'd rather have her over the cash any day). I don't regret coming home and having to pay off my credit card one bit. I love all my stuff.

Shan- I couldn't agree more... All the trips, shopping, parties and other little adventures were so worth the money. I have no regrets at all. This year is about living it up and just enjoying yourself! Ahhh good old times... 8)

One thing you really need to take into consideration is how much money you'll be spending on food. If nothing else, you have to budget for that.
Personally, my food cost about $35-$50/WEEK. Then again, I buy brand stuff. I didn't look for what was cheapest...
You will buy loads of stuff while you're there, too. Take up any special deals that they offer. If the water parks are free, go to them. Pleasure Island's cast member nights (Mondays and Thursdays) are a blast (and free). A few of the restaurants around there also give discounts to WDW cast members, and I think you might get discounts on tickets to other parks in the area (Universal and Sea World), but I'm not totally sure.
