Hi I am doing F&B for a year at Walt Disney and have heard that you take a drop in pay when you go on to a tipped position. How much should I expect top get in tips because I am a bit worried that I wont have enough to live off! Has anybody ever had any problems with it? thanks
Once you get into a tipped position your basic pay drops to about $3 an hour but you will walk away with more money than you know what to do with. You will earn more in a PM service shift then you used to in a whole week non-tipped!! Depending on your pavillion the tips you earn will very as americans tend to tip depending on the cost of their check. For eg, I worked in the UK and did pretty well but my friends over in Canada earned loads more than me as their menu was a lot more expensive than ours!! On average, in the UK you will earn at least about $100 in tips on a PM, a bit less on an AM as the meals are slightly cheaper and if you work a mid and dont take your designated and work the two full dining periods youll come away with a lot of money!! But beware the British tables as they dont know how to tip!!!!!
Hi! I'm Niki from Mexico. I'm going there on July 18th and I'll be in F&B too. I have a question, so I hope you can help me. When you get the tips, are these for you or do you divide them with the others? I've heard that at the end of the day everyone gathers what you got and divide them among all. But I'm not sure.
Is it just me or has anyone else seen the movie Waiting? Those foreigners speak English and know how to tip
i totaly agree that movie was soooo funny. only my guy friend think it's funny to show me the different thing they can do with their ahhhhaem you know.
yeah guys if ur in tipped, minimum u are taking away is $100 a day. on the busy days like weekends and extra magic u can take a way $400 in one night
Waiting was a great movie.... especially if your in the industry then you understand it sooooo much more haha.... it was a good movie...
You generally tend to keep your own tips, you just tip out the bartenders who make your drinks all night and the food runners who run your main courses. Im assuming the mexican pavillion will be the same as the UK in that!! You will seriously earn a LOT of money!!! And the film waiting is so scarily accurate!!! Especially as its set in 'Shenanigans' (ie bennigans) which is where you guys going out to work in the UK pavillion will be spending a lot of the tip money you earn!!!!

hahah Try and get the time off!! thats the worst part of disney, hey come be an international and don't do anything, You really have to use your personal days and your sick days, but dont' use them all at once, cause BOOM you will get terminated, talk to my little sister all she wanted to do was go home for her birthday disney said no, so she took some personal days and sick days, and got back to Florida and went to work and got Termed.. There not very nice! but i did get to go away sometimes, the key is to just keep requesting..cause then you bug them.. or just go see your office person for your country! Every little bit helps

Question, after how long u get transfered from the usual $6.80 per hour into the tipped positions when u earn loads more, how long do this transfer usually takes ??
