I have my interview coming up this week and I really want to do the one year program but the ONLY thing holding me back is the fact that its one year! Cuz theres nothing I will really miss that much except for family and Im not saying that if I go I plan to leave half way through or early or anything like that at all, but Im just wondering what happens if people do end up leaving early? Like what is the worst that would happen to them? And do people tend to do this lots?
Not many people leave early...I left after 10months but that was because of my visa...I would have quite happily stayed longer had circumstances been different. Most people will, in my experience, actually look into extending their contract because they enjoy their time there so much! I had the same worries about missing family before I left, but your time seriously will pass so quickly that you don't even realise they're not there...and it's so easy to stay in touch!!! I can't believe it's already 2 years ago that I applied...it's gone SO unbelievably fast....and I so wish I was doing it all again!! seems like a dream! Ellen x
Not necessarily....depends what your circumstances are for leaving and how well you get on with your managers and what you can negotiate...I know of several people who left early who managed to do it through the proper channels and got all the money they were owed etc! Ellen x
Yeagh you are right Ellen ;D If you get along with your managers really well then you can do everything I remember that they offered some Canadians to leave early because they were totally over staffed and they would get the whole refund for the flight etc. You can leave a few weeks earlier which isn't a problem.
