That i'm afraid to say it is a secret and one you wont find out till you get there! Not that i've ever taken part in one and most likely wont but I can imagine it would be a laugh and great fun Mhairi
Ive heard something about You have to sing your national anthem and then get thrown into a pool! Or at least thats what my friend had to do a longlonglong time ago... eeek!
I'm a bit nervous for mine....but no one will tell anything I think it's good that way. Like a university initation...(and I think security has stopped people getting thrown into the pool now)
I'll repeat what I said in the other thread about Throw Ins.... They are a very scary prospect when you have allergies. If I get to go, I don't fancy spending my first week in hospital because I've ended up in the pool or consumed something I shouldn't.
Just make sure someone knows that you have these serious allergies. I can only speak for Canadians, but you are never forced to do anything...we like options. Don't worry about it. You will be fine. They are meant to be fun, and ARE fun. And always remember, that whatever they do to you, you'll get to turn around and do it to a newbie too someday!!!! Shannon
Princess Tessa, and every one who will need to know if I get there... I am allergic to... Swimming pool chemicals gluten alcohol Milk (though not as bad as those top 3) numerous other foods that I live with eating a little or I would be able to eat nothing, just don't be suprised if I eat it one day and not the next. I know who much I can eat of these things. They include honey and caffine Most brands of Make up, so if I won't paint my face as a witch for halloween don't get suprised. Fortunatly I am fine with Fish and nuts which are common ones to be allergic to. Does make me look boring at parties and such, but as I can get high on diet coke (which is why I don't drink a lot of that, it's the caffine) I make up for not drinking, I promise!
Wow, you should chat with Snow.White87 she's allergic to TONS of things too... My sister is even worse, she's allergic to just about everything except rice and lean chicken lol Don't worry about looking lame at parties, I'll be sober too
Much fun is had by all at Throw-Ins!! I remeber mine so well...surprisingly!! As darling Shannon has said it's all about the fun! I always felt crazy Canadian pride at them! Although......I'm sure glad I'm not fromĀ certain other countries *waggles eyebrows* ;D I know I'm nasty!! Muahahaha!
Just wondering for the Canadian one, is it likely you're going to get overly messy? ie. should I wear something that I shouldn't expect to be able to clean/get stains out or whatever?
Thats a good question...but you don't have a chance to change do you? They just knock on your door, you throw on your canadian baseball hat and run with them eh? Just to be safe the first few nights I'll wear jeans and a (not see through when wet) tee shirt haha
Yeah thats a good plan, see what i was thinking was I'd be wearing a hockey jersey on my first night when I got down there... but if I run the risk of getting it wrecked forget it, I'm not flushing over 100 CDN down the tubes like that.
I THINK that is the entire point Jorden, the SURPIRSE factor!! You can NEVER be TOTALLY prepared for a thow in!!
