So, i did the CRP in 07-08. applied in June, didnt even get a phone interview, and am thinking of re applying. any idea what i could do to my CV to make it visually stand out and scream "look at me, dont move to the next person, im just going to irritate you until your look at me"

ahem, or words to that effect

you could put "look at me" in big multicoloured letters ;D

im applying for the first time, id make it really concise so it can be read easily, i think they look at each one for like a min at the most

Well I think your enthusiasm will shine through if you write a great cover letter. Also make it sharp, to the point & honest, you want you to shine through, that's how you make it stand out from the 1200 others. I know at the phone interview Hannah pointed out things I had written on my cover letter which I then elaborated on.

i think i have covered all the bases in terms of what they want to hear, my exp, why i want it etc but i think its too long its 2.5 pgs but i cover everything in it bit of dilemia re cutting it down lol

If i'm honest I think 2.5 pages is alot. Yummy have over a 1000 CVs, cover & motivation letters to read so they want something to the point. Break the two up & have a letter of motivation & cover letter its what I did & I had a page-ish for both.

Also make sure you get other people - friends & family to read over you CV & letters! They are a vaulable source who will tell you if you have missed anything out, need to elobrate more on a point or if you need to trim the excess!

yeah thats a good idea, i def need to shorten it, i wonder if they read the motivation box and the covering letter? I guess they must ???

As I said before they must do because I was asked about things on both my letters. Plus the Disney recuriters have a quick glance over your paperwork & cv included whilst your in the room & I guess after too.

your cover letter should only be 1 page and only a couple of paragraphs hitting them with the important information. Don't forget to sound enthusiastic in wording too and stay away from saying things like 'quite good at' etc as using the word 'quite' isn't strong.

I recommend a quick paragraph about you and what you do right now, then another about why you want to go to disney. Keep it light and fun too, tailored entirely to disney recruitment.

You should also do the same with your cv. It's something that you should do for every job really, but make sure that you target everything on your CV to disney. Even if the basic information is always the same, what you can do for disney is put a picture of mickey in the corner or the background.

2005CP already knows all this though (and needs to get his a$$ in gear to be out there with me again) :), but first time applicants may not.

When I did mine, I had disney pictures all over the cv, I had stitch being naughty in the corner, I highlighted in different colours my year out there from before and used world showcase images around that. My cover letter had about why I want to go back, what I got from it before and what I'm doing now and my ambitions so they can see why disney would be good. Also take the time to say why they should hire you.

Then to make things interesting I added on a joke with stitch that he was also applying to the program but I had to break the news to him that his planet isn't represented at world showcase so I apologised for his bad behaviour! It's silly but it can make them laugh if you do something like that and it makes you stand out which is what you want!

For my work here we were recruiting not that long ago and I spent time staring at application after application so I think I'm getting a better feel for what makes things stand out. Bright, cheerful, enthusiastic and colourful is my advice for disney ones!
