Hey Guyz n' Girlz... Firstly, I'd like to say how delighted I am that I've found 'yawl' here. Truly amazing! Secondly... I applied last year and reckon I blew it BIG time! I'm Disney mad! I even went over for two weeks beforehand - ok, it was a good excuse for another holiday too, but I mainly went to check it all out before I applied... I wanted to experience the 'whole package' to understand what I was wanting to join. So... two weeks later... happy as larry... after making enquiries with the Casting Department, talking to several Cast members etc I created my c.v and hand delivered it all the way to yummy's place... only I think I dropped a clanger! I don't think yummy appreciated a hand delivered cv... I mean, a flat on a residential street, greeted by a fella (turned out to be Jason) standing there in socks! OOOOOpppppsss! Well... I so wanted to make sure it got there (I was living in Oxford at the time. BTW) Anyway... A telephone interview was arranged... but unluckily for me, a good friend had died (Geoffrey Thompson - Blackpool Pleasure Beach) and the day I was scheduled to receive my call from Disney was the day before his funeral... so i was alittle down and glum. I'm sure this came through in my interview, hence why I'm still in the UK without my dream job at Disney. On reflection, I should've played it cooler... simply posted my cv, and tried to be more up-beat... but these freak thins happen, and I didn't have the 'dangly bits' to mention it or postpone the telephone inteview. So... does anyone think or know if I can re-apply again this year? Incidentally, I'm off for another taste of the dream at the start of may '05 for another two weeks - addictive aint it! Any help or comments, good or bad would be appreciated. I guess I spoil things sometimes by trying too hard too! Respectfully yours... Hackettboi. P.S - I'm 30 too... is there an age limit for IP?
Sorry to hear what a rough time you had.... If you really want Disney that bad, I say re-apply...I was talking to someone earlier who wasn't offered a job the first time she applied and the second time she got it!! And, I totally don't think you're too old...I don't think I've ever seen an age limit mentioned...and hey I'm 26 and will be 27 two months into my contract, and I don't think I too old to be going at all Good luck with your reapplication and let us know how everything goes!! Charlene
Hey dude, You can re-apply as many times as you wish... Julie said they like people whom re-apply, that shows a huge interest. In the other hand, I think you should take it easy, if they tell you to eMail the C.V. do that... don't show up just like that to hand deliver the CV. Show yourself outgoing, smart and enthusiast about the Disney Project. The limit age is around 29-30 yrs old. Good luck buddy!
Yeah ! dont worry also in my interview they told us that the perfect age in between 18 and 30 so you are perfect now but re-apply as soon as possible and good luck really! Is the best experience I'm having and I have to wait 6 months hehehe Dont worry Olga
hey...the next interviews for the uk are in november.... if successful that will give u a position between march and june 2006..i think? and if you send off maybe after your holiday i believe they are doing the phone interviews over summertime! good luk!
"and I didn't have the 'dangly bits' to mention it " Ahhh that made me chuckle. ANYWAY I think you should go for it, without a doubt. You obviously want the job huge amounts and I'm sure (minus any more personal tragedies) that will come across in your interview
Hey I think you should go for it. I applied back in October and didnt get the job I reapplied and got the job. I am leaving Sept 13th for F&B. I saw go for it. Jordana
I got wait listed my first time and accepted my second. I was devastated after I got the no and wasn't going to reapply...but a girl I met at the interviews that had gotten in convinced me to try again. I went in to the second interview not really caring so much because I figured it couldn't be as bad as the first time...and I got in. The first time can be very intimidating...especially if you are a big disney geek like me...but the second time around you know what to expect and what they will ask and are a LOT more prepared. There is no age limit. There were a lot of girls in the Japanese pavilion who were over 30. As long as you show them you are up for it and prepared to spend the whole year and not leave for another reason halfway through. Shan
Hey again yawl... Firstly I'd like to say a MASSIVE thanks to all you nice people out there for all your comments - they're greatly appreciated! Secondly... I'm another step closer to my dream once again! Hhehehe! Since posting the original message on here, I emailed my CV to Jason @ Yummy and have since had a reply... I'm on the list for the telephone interview again, which they will contact me once again sometime soon to arrange an appointment... so FINGERS CROSSED! Ok, going to go now and catch some sleep... laterz yawl! xxx
