I was just browsing and found this article about how the Submarine Ride at Disneyland used to be in the 60s. They had real girls wearing mermaid tails as part of it lol. http://www.perry.com/disney/subs/TimesSept398.html
They used to have it at WDW, but it's now Pooh's Playful Spot. 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (the same ride as in WDW, and in those pictures) is now Finding Nemo's Submarine Voyage...I so want to ride it!
Yeah i know I went on the Finding Nemo ride last year. Waited in a 2hr que lol. It was a good ride but not too exciting, you do go under the water and see hollograms of Nemo, Dory etc out the windows. It's a pretty long ride too, I timed it and it was about 13 minutes I think.
I went on Nemo for the first time in december and thought it was awesome! I'm so glad that they decided to use that space again They have a good mixture of real objects in the water and animation, it's pretty impressive! They're doing some pretty intense renos in DCA as well, it'll be the one good thing about the CRP ending - getting to go see all the new changes in california!
20 000 Leagues was one of my favorites as a kid, I was sooo sad when they shut it down. I haven't been on the Nemo one yet... And don't get me wrong, I absolutely adore Finding Nemo, but it won't be the same.
