I'm shocked nobody has started a post about how mind-blowingly good it was! Superb story, beautifully shot, kick-ass action sequences & possibly in Heath Ledger's performance the best movie maniac since Jack Nicholson in the Shining!
It was out of this world, it is definitely up for an Oscar. Heath Ledger was amazing in the film, i hope he gets the pastimes Oscar hes up for.
They don't actually confirm that he's dead, it would be a waste of such a fantastic character to just leave it at that. If there is a third film, it should definately revolve around Two-Face.
yeah i hope he's not dead. right from when i saw him with his coin i thought that there'd be something to do wih 2 face, either in DK or another film. i was sooo upset when racheal died though :'( and i'm assuming it's that that will drive harvey into becoming the insane 2 face (if there is another film)
Well, ok, maybe it was not confirmed. I was shocked that rachael died, i could not believe it but i knew instantly when his face went on fire that he was going to be two face. They should make a third with him, but its just that he had a funeral that made me think it was over, two villains stories in one film.
The whole funeral thing fits into what Commish Gordan & Batman were saying about Gotham needing it's white knight hero. Protecting them from the truth that would crush Gotham's spirit. The make-up for Two-Face was pretty spectacular, I'd love to see something about how long it took to put on etc.
Ye but i think the majority of it was computer generated. But the film was absolutely amazing and omg, the car got crushed, its like casino royale when the spectactular aston marting gets crushed to bits, i almost cried.
haha yeah the car was awesome. i liked how there weren't all those funny little gadgets and stuff like in other batman movies. this one and batman begins were obviously darker but more real and less comic book like.
Yes, exactly. But the dark side of the dark knight was quite disturbing becaue clowns are scary to me on their own but the joker just added to the fear, lol. But i have always been scared of the joker.
It reminded me alot more of 'crime' films such as Heat or Seven than it did the more traditional idea of a superhero film. I would love to see it in an IMAX theatre, if only for the opening sequence!
Yeah IMAX would be awesome! I hate to admit that I downloaded it and watched it on my computer : I REALLY wanted to see it and I was too busy to go to the cinema lol. But I know it would have been 10x better in theaters so I'll probably be seeing it again.
As a general rule, I have no issues with being a knock-off nigel (8 quid for a film is just a rip-off!) but there are some films that are that special you just know they deserve to be seen in a cinema. I think the last film I saw at a theatre was Transformers! I don't get out much!
haha knock off nigel, you stole that off the advert!! I've not seen dark knight yet, but i was absolutely in love with heath ledger so it's gona take a lot for me to bring myself to go see it lol is it better then batman begins?
Yes, i would say it is, i think it is longer aswell. The film is very long but everything is relavent and it does not drag on.
It blows Batman Begins out of the water. You know it's something special when Christian Bale is the 4th best performance in it (Behind Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart & Gary Oldman IMO) You really should see it Kirstie, Heath's interpretation of Joker is a sight to behold. It's easily as amazing as he was in Brokeback Mountain, if not better. He takes the best elements of the various Joker's from the past & makes his depiction what will always now be the definitive Joker. For a comic book geek like myself, it can not be improved on!
I think i will force myself to go see it. The only Heath Ledger film ive managed to watch since he died is 10 Things I Hate About You. But only cos he looks so young and not really like he did before he went. Christian Bale is definately the worst Batman so far, no one can beat Michael Keaton!!
