Now that I have finally got my pack and have started on the process of heading to Disney, I am thinking more about the things I may need there. I was wondering what others are doing about laptops. Is it best to have one with you when you go or is it better to buy over there???? Also, I keep thinking whether I should get a credit card "for emergency purposes only" (well thats the hope) and if so do I get it this side or again is it better to get in U.S?? Glad to hear your thoughts on these matters.
Im going over in December for a holiday and am buying my new laptop then, it is £400 cheaper if I buy it from Apple in Florida Mall than back in the UK. I've got a credit card at the moment and I'll be taking it just incase, dont really want to run dry whilst your out there, especially in those first 2 weeks when we havent been paid. One advantage to buying a laptop out there if it is like a Dell etc is that you would have warranty in the US where as if you bought it over here and it broke whilst you were out there I think they wouldnt cover it. (And yes, I could be considered a geek )
Depends on what kind of insurance you have...when I went last year I got insurance from my uni that covered medical and possessions....including my laptop which was great...I won't mention that it popped it clogs AFTER I came home lol Oh wait, I guess that means I just did mention it :-\
I would highly suggest getting a credit card! You'll have to get one from your home country - you are applicable to receive American credit cards because you do not have a credit history in the US, and many require you be a permanent American resident. (I know - I wanted a Disney card and an Universal one to get the free perks that came with it ) ~ Jen
