Stupid question but what's the difference between a sick day and a personal day - I mena can you take personal days whenever you want? How many can you have? ???

P.S. Sorry you got termed - they seem to be really strict about keeping to the rules!

They tell you right at the start of your program that u cant be on property when you've called in dont they?
Cause whenever any of my friends called in, they would go and do things off property like see a movie etc and that way they wouldnt get caught.
As soon as you enter MK you need to use your ID card so they know you are there.
The only park you can get in without scanning your ID card is Epcot.

Oh Dom it sounds so bad.
It makes me feel very worried about doing things. I guess you really need to be careful with what you do around there.

Make sure you've got your tracks covered if you are doing anything bad.

mh,....strange ...i rember calling in but didnt tell why but on the afternoon i had some extra hours i have already signed up for so i went to work to magic kingdom and had no problems. I even signed on the cds.¡¡¡¡ We knew that ruled applied to PI but not to the parks¡¡¡ at least what my friends did was they entered backstage. MK tunnels are really easy to use¡¡¡

thats right!!!! how mauro said backstage.. you cannot enter to any park if you call in, call sick or no show, because they scan your id in the main entrance of all the parks..
and also there are not personal days.. you could call to say you are not going to work.. BUT for any reason it will be call CALL SICK and a point to your record.! a manager told me that very seriously, because the rules in disney are very very sharp!.
sometimes i was really scared because of it.

    I would've been so devastated!

But you have personal days, I don't remember them saying anything about how many though.

Usually you'll have to be in your country for a year after your visa expired before you go back again. But if you have proof that you left the US early, like your plain ticket or the receipt for it you might be able to go back in about a year from now.

I thought that you had to get 3 "strikes" and then you were termed???

Not always, it all depends on what you do and when you do it! If you do something in the 3 first months you can be termed straight away, because you're only there on a trial basis or whatever it's called...

When I was there in 2003/2004 you could call in sick or call in personal. When you said personal they never asked you what was wrong where when you said sick they asked. When you call in sick you get a point. If you happen to be sick for three consecutive days and call in sick each day it totals 1 point. If you call in personal it was 1 point each day. So technically if you call in sick for 3 consecutive days = 1 point. Call in personal for 3 days = 3 points. 3 points = a reprimand and 3 reprimands = termination.

The point system is the main difference between the calling in sick or personal but you're not supposed to be on Disney property any day you call in.

The point system has now changed because too many people were abusing the point system. You now get 1 point for every sick day or personal day. Each day you call in equals one point! :'( :'( :'(

I'm not really planning on sneaking around and calling in sick often when I'm not but do you get a cartain amount of sick days? Do they ever ask you to bring a doctor's note or anything?

On a bit of a different note, can you trade shifts with people or ask others to work for you when you don't want to? Is there a bit of a procedure to go through when doing this, like signing a bunch of shift change papers and such?
