Hi, I just thought I would let you guys all know, that i filed my american taxes like a month ago, and was still waiting for my refund. My dad finally called them and they told me that because I only had a temporary ssn they weren't gonna send out my refund, because they don't send out refunds to temporary ssn. However, the guy asked how much I was expecting, and then said that because it was so low (about $200), that he would release it and send it to me. So if you guys haven't heard anything, give them a call, or they might just not send you your refund.
I sent my tax return form off at the end of February. I got a cheque last week. There's a page on the IRS website where you can check the progress of your refund here: https://sa1.www4.irs.gov/irfof/lang/en/irfofgetstatus.jsp Just enter your Social Security Number, status and how much you're expecting back and it'll tell you where it's up to. It just takes a long time to process them. Andy.
