If you showed them it at the interview they obviously don't think its going to be a problem darlin. Maybe they have makeup that can cover it?

I have three that I thought might be a problem. They didn't seem to think so at the interview though. I'm just going to go with the flow cause I'm expecting them not to be daft enough to hire someone that they'll have to sack the first time they get dressed for work...

i had an over the fone interview and thought it best to keep my mouth shut teehee! in the look book thingy majig it says that bandages arnt allowed as coverup doh! my plan was to wear a plaster/band aid and then put my watch over it! i know u can get make up from a pharmacy that is for covering birthmarks but it will be a pain to do that every day!

You should definetly tell them...I am from Canada, and I have a small (1 inch or 3 cm) one on the inside of my right wrist. I told Cast-a-way, and they had to call the disney recruiters just to check, and they said I just have to wear a long sleeved shirt underneath my costume....and I just got an offer for f&b in december. SO honesty is definetly the best policy!! they will definetly find a place for you costume wise if you are fit for the job! unless it is on your face or hand or something? even then....I dunno...I know they told me that I was not allowed to cover it with make-up though...for fear that the makeup may come off when i wash my hands etc....they don't want to risk it! GOOD LUCK ;D

im in operations so it shuldnt be that much of a prob, i read in the booklet thing that as long as u can cover it up then its ok? but not with a bandage! im pretty sure it would be totally un-noticable as its on the inside right of my left wrist and is maybe 1 inch by 0.5 inch! il get some cover up an see if it works an if not il tell them hehe! i wouldnt no who to tell tho to be honest cus yummys wont care an i have no actual contacts at disney, not even the person who interviewed me i duno wot she was called! plus they never asked me so ................. ;)

Just cover ir with liquid make-up, and no problem! The only thing is that u'll have to wash your socks, or clothes daily. ;D

You should be alright because they said that if you show them, they can adjust your costume to cover it up.

Wow you weren't asked over the phone if you had tatoos? That was, like, the first thing I was asked!! LOL.

you are very lucky that they didn;t ask you....that is one of the first things they asked me too....you can definetly try covering it with make-up! which I may have resort to when it is deadly hot out in the summer! and you can always use the arguement that they didn't even ask you...I know at the Canadian f2f interviews though, you have to fill out some paperwork that you physically have to circle a section that states if you have a tattoo...how many you have, and where it is located (they don't even ask you how big it is!) so it is probably best to tell the truth, unless you know for sure that your costume will cover it (maybe yummy doesn't have those papers?) cause I think that might be cause for termination...sorry I don;t mean to sound abrupt at all...I just want to make sure that you cover all your bases so that you can join the team at Disney...GOOD LUCK!!! I am sending positive vibes your way!!

I know someone from last year who had one on his wrist and he just wore a watch to cover it up.

Just be forwarned if you are put in a role where you can't cover it via costume, and you can't naturally cover it, there's a chance your job will end before it begins. Honesty is the best policy here and they should probably know about it before you get there. Especially if you're covering it with something that could wear off or rub off during your shift.

Yeah..it was alright i found for behind the scenes roles..Even tho i didn't have one..somebody who i worked with did..And they didn't seem to mind about it as much back stage..

cool well if i hadnt read all the info stuff i would never have known that u wernt allowed them because it was never mentioned to me! i'll try and get the cover up stuff which is supposed to be brilliant an dosnt rub off for days becuase its designed to cover birthmarks. surely terminating you for having a tattoo is illegal??? thats like terminating somebody because of how they look!

Unfortunately not. Its part of the Disney Look which they are legally allowed to enforce.

Try Dermablend though since its the best makeup for covering things like tattoos out there.

And I'd carefully read over everything you've had from Yummy/Disney to make sure they didn't mention tattoos anywhere in it. They're really pretty strict about it - its better to email them now and offer to show them a photo of it, than to get all the way out there and have them be pissy about it eh? I'm sure it'll all be fine though honey. :)

yeh ive looked over it and the first thing i have that mentions it is the disney look book which states that they are permitted it opaque make up completley covers it. i will tell yummys about it but if disney have a problem then i will not be a happy bunny! they cant seriously fire somebody for having a tattoo! what if i has a big scar lol would they say no to that???

Oh yes they can. Disney are serious about "the look" you can get termed for much less than having a tattoo..

Yup believe it you can get termed over it. Mostly because (at least in North America, not sure about England or anywhere else in Europe to be honest) lieing (and/or withholding information) in order to get a job is (I believe) Illigal and grounds for immidate dismissal from basically any job. Thus by with holding information you now know about (ie the tattoo policy) it can be grounds for termination.

Also about the scar example, the look book clearly states INTENTIONAL body alteration or modification, and I doubt most scars are intentional.

Telling them about it now could effect you position in the sense they'll give you one where either your costume will cover it, or you will be out of direct guest contact so they don't see it.
