ok i am a bit confused a few of my friends (that are out there already) have tattoos. i know disney have strict rules about this... how did they get through?? is it because their costumes can cover them up? also does anyone have a pic of the U.K. male costume or does anyone know what it is like? i.e. long sleeved, short, shirt, thanks everyone!!
Tattoos are fine as long as they are not visable, and it all depends on your costume - think the biggest problem people have is with lifeguarding - obviously not much of material in that costume to cover anything, let alone a tattoo! (i've got three and am working as a lifeguard but obviously they are all hidden) Most costumes cover your full body and at a minimun have short sleaves so as long as the tats aren't on you lower arms/legs you should be fine xx
one guy i worked with had a tatoo on his wrist and his watch couldn't hide it, so at the start of each shift he would put some kind of make up on it which hid it.
im a little worried a have a small tattoo on my wrist and dont want it to get inthe way.. ive been told its fine by some peopls and told its not by others... two people i know there have got tattoos on their arms so its confusing!
Have you had your interview yet? You'd need to tell them about the tattoo before you go though and they'll need to be happy enough to accept you with it knowing how you plan to cover it up. But by the sounds of it disney might let you use camoflauge make up to cover it (which isn't that much more expensive than normal make up)...otherwise the other people with visible tattoos wouldn't have been accepted. Email yummy jobs and see what they suggest.
The first question you're asked is about tattoos... they won't ask to see it, so you just need to tell them.
I've got a tattoo on my wrist and it hasn't been a problem, its tiny so at first I bought a cheapo watch from walmart to cover it. I've just been wearing a plaster recently though and no one ever says anything. I have the special make up and its rubbish cos its really dark! you'll see people at work covering theirs with make up but it looks ridiculous cos no one has the right colour so if its small enough for a plaster just go for that! by the way, someone told me before my interview they reject some people the second you tell them about tattoos so I never said anything about mine. the Disney look people out here are fine with it though as long as its covered so its up to you if you wanna risk it in your interview!
its a little more difficult than covering with a watch because its stars that get a little bigger. but im sure makeup will cover them..
probably the best thing to do is try covering it with make-up before you worry about what else you can do...sounds stupid to say that but if you try it and it covers it your mind will be at ease
some people with tattoos are put in jobs where there is a costume that is able to cover it up, such as a long sleeved shirt in yourcase. However, you will have to wear the long sleeve shirt even if it is over 100 degrees!!
