Claire xx
hey am not sure to be honest, i would have thought so! If not, can't u get an overdraft of the cheque amount and then take it as cash? Bry
hey claire! yes you can use ya switch card in shops or at a ATM in floirda but it'll charge ya so much percent (cant remember how much now) im using mine if i get really stuck for cash. Â im bringing travellers cheques with me...they should last me hope that helps hun Stephie x
well bry would get an overdraft if i didn't already have a maaaaaasive student one! hahaha! that's brilliant steff...i thought it would be alright...i don't mind about the charge...will just take all the cash out! hope you're having fun out there....only 5 days to go! woo woo! xx
Oooo Michelle would so know the answer to this (she used to work in a bank) she explained it a while back. I think maybe some of the new ones do. maybe if theyre maestro... not sure ur bank should know. good luck for next week! xxx
just realised i read your message wrong.....for some reason thought you were out there already! you get there same day as me! sorry....bit of a ditzy day today! hehe! x
You can definitely use a Switch card to get money out of a cashpoint/ATM but as mentioned they will charge you quite a lot of money to withdraw the cash over there and you won't get the best exchange rate. As for using it as a form of payment, although there are some places that will accept it, the majority will not. Certainly Disney do not accept Switch/Maestro as a form of payment as Visa, Mastercard, Amex etc are far more accepted forms of payment. If you have been paid by a business cheque then go and have the cheque cashed at the bank at which it was issued rather than your own bank as they will be able to authorise that there are sufficient funds available. Hope this helps Rich
Thats right about using it in cash machines, theyll be o problem. However, a bank will never cash a business cheque for you. If the cheque is made payable to you by name and crossed 'a/c payee only' there is absolutely no way the bank will cash it for you - it HAS to go into a bank account and through the clearing system. Hope that helps
I would call your bank. You might be able to take out money from your account if you visit a certain branch. I was at my bank this morning and they told me that I could withdraw cash from my Canadian account from any Bank of America.
