Is anyone worried that is leaving soon, that if the swine flu gets pushed to level 6, they will shut down world travel. Which means u wont be able to leave the country u live in, I mean is anyone leaving in the next month?? Cos this might affect you!
I heard on the radio today that 7 people have died in Mexico City because of the flu (the flu being the "official" reason). 7 people (this might've changed) in a city in which the population is roughly 9 million people. That is 7 in 9.000.000, and a simple vaccine will take care of the problem (imagine how condensed the city is). Personally, I think it's blown out of porportion by the media (or perhaps some other instance), and so I'm not worried at this point.
I'm from Mexico and I'm really worreid about the flu getting to level 6.. According to our Procurement Alley.. everything stays normal with the program; we had some problems with our visa appointments but there are getting solved. So we only hope our papers get on time so we can leave may 26th! Also school is suspended until May 6th, so our classes are going to be re-scheduled leaving us on suspense if we will finish school on time. Lets be positive and hope things get better!!
Im due to go in 4 weeks so its a bit of a worry, someone in my town of Redditch is 1 of 3 cases in the UK. What will happen? Will i ever get to Disney?
I think there is a better odds to get sick from worrying then from the new flu. And anyway, Norway have no cases yet, and medicine for 1.3million ppl. Should be enough
I can't argue that this isn't a serious issue, and I won't say that it's no big deal. But I don't think we need to worry about it in terms of the Disney programs. If it does become a level 6, then hopefully it wont stay that way for very long. I'm trying to follow the flu pandemic from the WHO website and not by what the media says (although its hard when its in your face all the time). Everyone is trying to be the first ones to break the story if it does become a level 6, hence why they keep reminding us that it's a level 5. Have they even told us what a level 5 is, do they actually know? All they say is its one under being the most serious pandemic level - doesn't really mean very much, might not actually be that different to a level 4.
I have the flu! Not swine flu, just normal flu seriously though, it sucks. 4 paid days off work however, do not suck.
I was wondering if anybody knows if anything will happen in the parks if it reaches a 6?! theme parks would be BREEDING grounds for this kind of flu i would have to think right?!
I read an article about the current level 5 crisis saying that they are already worrying. I am assuming that if it reaches level 6 they will bring in measures to cope with it. I can't seem them closing the parks ... they don't even tend to close them for hurricanes unless they go right over the parks.
I reckon they would get in some tight medical security checks at the park entrances if it got to that stage. I'm sick I'm hoping it's not piggy flu! It's frustrating that there's just nothing preventative you can do except really crack down on hygiene and a large dose of good luck. I'm off to stock up on antibac handwash! I haaaate being ill
Daz, this swine flu thing has been blown up out of proportion by the media, don't worry! Most people who get it just feel a bit groggy for a few days and then just get better like with any flu! If you're really worried, though, check this to see if you have any symptoms
haha that's brilliant! someone pointed out something to me yesterday that i had only half-processed before - think of how many people die in mexico every day because of other illnesses, and when you compare it to swine flu, swine flu looks like it needs to man the fuck up!
It's actually a weaker fluvirus then normal, it's just that it's a new kind of flu wich probably have scared ppl. A normal flu will have a higher death toll then this swine flu. People with normal immune systems will just be normaly ill.
It's me allright=) Yes I used to be an NCO in the Royal Norwegian Airforce. That pic is taken when I'm still a officer in training. Now however that uniform got my sarge stripes on it
am i right in thinking that every man in norway has to join some part of the armed forces when they hit 18 (or a certain age)? you know what that means guys, don't get in a fight with the norwegians, they can kick your ass! heh
Well every man isnt very right anymore. I think its around 30-50% atm. Those who are best fit for service, and all the girls who wants to. If you ask me, those 30-50% was a sorry view, but then again in my work you would never be happy with what you got either. I had maybe 10 soliders who were motivated and fit enough for service, 50 who where fit enough but either didnt know it them selfs, or just didnt give a crap, and about 50 that for various reasons you wonder what was doing there in the first place
