Do you apply for ICP work and study or for the 3 months summer program?????I do not really know for what I want to apply because both programs have their advantages and disadvantages.....Are you studying or still in school?'cause I saw you are 17.

i am going to university and so will be going for the 2 months or so summer programme during my time off from uni!!
i would go for the longer one but i wouldnt be able to stay away from uni that long.
but it all depends on whether i officially get into uni if i can go on this next year because i need to wait for exam results, but i am so determined to try and get gd grades to get into uni so i can go on the summer programme. If i dont get into uni then i will try the cultural representatives program.

    Howdy peoples!

I'm also going to be applying for the 09 program! I was a CM on the ICP06 where I worked at Innoventions (Epcot) and Main St. USA at the Magic Kingdom, so there's not a lot I don't know about WDW and the program! As well as that, I was my university's international ambassador (like a campus rep) this year, so if anyone has any questions, let me know!

Apart from me, I know of one more person at least who'll be applying. Michelle, who worked at Innoventions on the ICP07 will be joining us! And to say we're VERY excited would be an understatement! Roll on next summer!!!

It was the best three months of my life! If you click on the link in my signature, that's a youtube video I made about life on the program which should show you something of my program...

I absolutely loved my time on the ICP and can't wait to get back! It's like my second home! And I am very excited to be applying!

oh wow, you are making me very excited, is it a gruelling process trying to get accepted cos i donno if i will get accepted or not.

That video is so good, i didnt get to watch all of it, it kept cutting out half way but it looks well fun. Is it quite hard to get the job you want?

It depends, really! If you apply for QSF&B or Merch, you can be fairly sure you'll get offered a job because they have loads of positions available in these roles. If you apply for attractions, lifeguard, character etc. which have fewer available positions, it's harder to get just because there's fewer places and more applicants.

Besides all of that, the actual application process with the interviews itself isnt "gruelling" anyway. The hardest part of it all will be the waiting to hear back-about interviews and whether you get the job you want or not! Overall, it's pretty painless, I felt.

Oh, and FYI, compared to a standard J1 program, it's MUCH cheaper! You might not make as much money, but you'll have an incredible experience - and hey, every time you go to the parks, it's the equivalent of adding another 40 or 50 dollars to your paycheck in the form of the price of a park ticket!

Just to show an example of how that works... I'm on an internship J1 in Boston right now... I get paid about 3200 per month and pay about 800 or so on rent and bills. In Florida, I was paid about 1300 or so per month, but I paid about 300 on bills. Every day at lunch, I pay about $8 for a sandwich and drink (or whatever). For about the same in Florida, I paid about $3. So, while you don't get paid as much, things are much cheaper! Between the discount and a lower cost of living (including, of course, free transport!), things are much more do-able!

    Hope that helps somewhat!
