Im heading out for the summer program on June 3rd and currently looking for flights. Got a quote from STA Travel in Oxford but its over £600 and just wondering what price other people have paid for already/ in the past for flights for the summer program? And where they book them? Dont know whether to just book them now where I can find them the cheapest (varies between £450 and £500) or am I best to wait a bit and see if they come down in price?

Dont know what to do so just thought I would see what people have paid for them in the past?

600? I suspected STA might not be the cheapest option. Is that a return?

I know april is a bit cheaper, I have bought my flight out for £285 through www.Kayak.co.uk.

    Regards,
    Jamie

If its a return thats not so bad then, do disney deduct against all of that and reimburse you all of it?

    Regards,

No on the summer program we have to pay for all of it ourselves - thats why im trying to find it as cheap as possible lol!

I'd say book with wherever you can find them cheapest - the earlier you book the cheaper they will be.

Flights to and from America are just going to increase from now until you go so I wouldn't hang on.

As well, they are likely to be more expensive in june/august as you'll be around the holiday season

Just make sure you have a good look around and at the different options, like singles, or if your going to do some travelling an open jawed flight where you return from somewhere else, which are often cheaper than flying from Orlando

Heya, I'm off on June 22nd. I just booked my flights through STA and they quoted 678gbp for direct london-orlando-london flights! Ridiculous! I'm actually flying back from LA a week later than I finish to do a trek over that that way. so my london-orlando and la-london flights together are 538 - 140 cheaper!

I do have free internal flights with United cause we volunteered to stay an extra day in washington over new years.. (*what* a sacrifice!) but actually the difference in cost is more than that of an internal from orlando to san fran (that's where I'm starting from) anyway! Crazy isnt it.

And it's even cheaper to fly back from NY so if you want a few days up there, it may end up cheaper than not going!

mine was £535 from sta, that's a direct from gatwick (leaving in may).

if i didn't mind changing i could've got it for about £430 (it's prob gone up now though) through their website.

it's best to look around but the earlier you book the better!

Reesh_lad - have u thought about doing some travelling? If you could travel so you are coming back in September I would think you might get it a lot cheaper? I guess it depends when uni starts up for you. Mine was always October tho.

    Hey Hey!

Flying out from Sunny Glasgow too on June 3rd! Sooo...you cant get a direct flight from glasgow...got BA to Gatwick for about 30 quid ( chose BA coz they check your luggage straight through rather than having to check you own luggage in at gatwick if ya get me) THEN flight to orlando was 444.00 RETURN - cheapest i could find! Student loan is going to suffer :) I get into Orlando at 16.55 and hope thats alright?

Also checked and its about £20 to change my return flight to later on coz i want to use up my visa by going to New York or some sort?

    Hope that kinda helps! ;D

Hey, I'm not sure if this will be helpful but TravelCityDirect have always got really low prices for flights. The only problem is that they only sell fortnightly flights so you would either have to buy 2 sets (one from uk to orlando not using the return and then another to the uk from orlando, again not using the return flight.)

Either that or you could book with them for your flight to orlando (and not use the return flight) and then find a cheaper single flight back to the uk after you've finished your program. As someone siad before, if you can travel to somewhere like NY or Washington after your program you will find flights are far cheaper from there as they add a huge premium to orlando flights because its such a popular destination!

At the moment flights for June are advertised as £313, which even with another single flight on top of that is still cheaper! Give them a call, they can probably sort something out for you.

Think Im going to book BA flights from STA website. Its £520 for flights on the 3rd from Edinburgh to Gatwick then on the 11.05 BA flight and coming back on the 2nd of Sept from New York to Edinburgh via Heathrow!

Decided just to book them so I can start saving my spending money and know I have flights sorted. They are flexible flights as well which is good!

I'm flying from Glasgow Int to New York to Orlando for £525 on June 3rd which i thought was quite good! Searched for my flights on the STA website to see which airlines were flying out then put the same details into the Continental Airlines website and got the same flight £50 cheaper :D x x x
