Hey out there in internetland! I was accepted into the Summer Program from May 27th - August 24th! I saw that there are a few people from the Vancouver interviews that took place in November 2006! Seems like a long time ago, but I was wondering if you guys wanted to see if we could meet at the airport, get on the same flights? Also, it's cheaper if we fly from Seattle than Vancouver (about $200).

Basically just thought I'd say hi!

    Hey Andrea,
Nice to meet you. Yeah I was at the Nov interview, when did you have yours? A couple of us have talked about getting the same flight. I have been talking to Carol (another person leaving that day) and we think we are going to fly out via Air Canada on May 26th at 11:25 pm (flight AC182 connecting with AC944 in Montreal) from Vancouver, it's the cheapest flight. I will only be booking a one way because I don't know if I will be coming back right away. Let's keep in touch.

Hiya! I was at the November interview as well! And considering there was only 10 of us, I'm sure we said 'hi' to each other at some point ;D I've only really started researching flights a few days ago since I found out the return date. Like you I might be staying a bit longer, now that I know we're done on the 24th! I found the Air Canada flight you mentioned. I wonder if we can persuade WestJet to price match that? Heheheh. I doubt it. Will keep on the hunt in case something better out of YVR comes up; we might get lucky and catch a seat sale.

    Nice meeting ya!

PS- I've added you to my MSN, hope you don't mind.

Hey Girls, I'm not heading down with you in May, I'm leaving in 10 days, Just a thought for you, Westjet has a direct flight from Calgary, and my flight only cost $350 which is a sweet deal, keep an eye on them, they have seat sales all the time!

Direct flight from Calgary eh? Well how much does it cost to fly from YVR to Calgary? I've been looking for flights for a few months now...myself & 3 others from my school are going to fly out together. I suggested flying out of Seatac because of the cost difference, but I think we decided to fly YVR or BLI (Bellingham) just because of the hassle of the border and then driving 1.5-2hrs to Seattle. Anyway, How much has everyone's flights been costing cause besides Expedia, I've been finding them to be in the $600's and up!

    I got a seat sale through Westjet, one-way, $355.

Try looking up Air Canada on One Way tickets, rather than roundtrip. I found a glitch in their system, that buying 2 - one way tickets worked out to be less than purchasing a round trip one of the same flight. I saved about $20. The flight that Kelsey mentioned is so far the cheapest, as it's only $240+taxes.

Also, try checking out of Bellingham. Last time I checked, there was a few flights out of there that were less than Seattle. Plus it's much much closer! Only about a half hour drive. Whoops, you said you're trying that. My mistake. :p

Yeah, I am really happy with the flight I got. Like Andrea said it came to $240 total (all taxes included) for one way. It leaves YVR at 11:25 pm, stopover in Montreal and arrives on the 27th in Florida at 11:30am. It was cheap and arrived at a perfect time so I snatched it up.

Wow, that's a great price on WestJet!! All the ones I came across were $359 and up, so I went with the Air Canada one. What's your arrival date Jillian?

No worries Bea, none of us have received our packets yet :( I emailed Eric from Castaway and he said the return is the 24th of August, however someone else on the program was told the 27th... So I'm guessing it's one of the two.

    Nice to meet you!

    Hey guys,

I am on the Cultural Rep Program leaving April 24th (this coming Monday!) Down there for a year, I just wanted to mention not to rule out Seattle, I am flying one way form seattle to orlando with one stop for $202 canadian, taxes included. May be worth it even if it is an hour and a half drive. I do live in Aldergrove right near the border tho.

Like Aaron said, Seattle/Bellingham are an option, you just have to take into account the drive, and you have to clear your Visa when you drive across as that's your point of entry into the US.

Hi everyone! I'm at the November interview in Vancouver too! (the girl who was half an hour late and the onlyone in the first row) I think I remember most of you. And yeah, apparently a lot of us got hired. Perhaps the interviewers were in a really good mood that day? Anyways, I'm on the same flight with Kpaige. I'll be in Operations for the summer, but according to Eric's email reply that my end date is August 27.
