Hey just wondering about suitcases. How many are we allowed, I presume it's two plus our hand luggage. Is that right? What weight can these be for each one or all together? Haven't even started packing yet. Procrastination is a wonderful thing! ;D Is there anything you guys think we would need to bring that hasn't been mentioned on the packing checklist?
It really depends on your flight company... ...you should ask them (maybe in their website u can find some infos) or just post here the name of your flight company and hope someone will answer..lol!!! ;D Usually you're allowed to have 2 suitcases, max weight each one 23 kg... ...but this, in your case, may not be.... So... ask ask ask!!! Hope this helps!
Ok thanks. I won't know my flight details til I get my visa so I won't know who I'm with til a few days before I depart! I don't see why people on cultural representative program have to wait, I'd rather know now! Arrghh
I know that some companies, it's only a $40 fee if you go over the weight. However, there are other companies that will charge you $120+ if you go over the weight...So, careful that you know the weigth allowance and know how much your luggage weighs. Good luck.

The hard part to remember is that you're going to buy things and you will need space to bring them home! I'm trying to decide between what I really need and things that I only want. It's really difficult!
At least when i went over, and when i went over on vacation in November i could bring along 2*32kgs. I did not bring that on vacation..
Yeah!!! actually I just talked with a friend who's already working there since September last year and she told me NOT to bring all of my clothes haha 'cause there are some pretty amazing outlet stores there so... I'd recommend you to bring just what's absolutely necessary so that we can shooop till we droooooop hahahaha Ohh!! by the way.. to all other Mexicans who'll be travelling by Mexicana Airlines.. we can take 2 suitcases (32kgs EACH) *YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY* not that i'm taking that much but... it's good to know I won¡t have to worry about paying over weight hehe *Scarlet*
ok so i used to work for an airline until about a week ago. it is just a smaller canadian airline but baggage is pretty standard. so for us it was 2 checked bags that weigh no more than 70 lbs each and two carry on that weigh no more than 22 lbs each. and then there is a fee for anything that is more than 70 lbs and for any addtional pieces. hope that helps. (that info is for westjet airlines for anyone flying with them but for the rest of you, you can totaly look it up on your airlines web site. they should have it you just might have to look for it.)
i just looked it up on the air canada website, so for anyone flying with them the restrictions for baggage are 2 bags/50lbs each (hospitality class) and 70lbs executive class (and i think then you can add an extra bag then). it is all on the website, with carry-on restrictions and overlimit fees!
In the uk its usually between 20-25 kg allowance for stow away luggage and then 5kg for carry ons. If your carry on is too heavy or bigger than a certain size you will have to have it go on as stow away and they sometimes charge extra for that as well. some airlines give u more luggage allowance if you upgrade your seat to the enxt leve.l like premium economy or upper deck and others allow you to pay for more luggage allowance in advance. travel city does for about £15 u can have 40kg allowance for example and if upgrade with virgin i think they allow u more luggage allowance (not 100% sure if thats still the case anymore tho) E
