hey guys, i really want to apply for the International Programme at Disney, trouble is from reading these forums it doesn't look like there is a high rate of success at interviews etc. My plan was to hopefully get on at Disney to go out say November 06 so that i could defer entry to university as i have to send my applications of sometime in the next two months but that doesn't give me much flexibility. Does anyone have any advice on what i could do? I really really want to go on the International Programme but do you think it would a risk to apply for deferred entry at university in case I wasn't successful with Disney? Does anyone know whether age has an impact on success at Disney as I hoping to go straight after my 18th birthday? Can you even apply when you are still 17?? Please help, anything would be appreciated! Danielle xxx
Hi Danielle I hate to say it- but usually I don't think they'll interview you when you're 18. I think this is cos you can't start the visa process til your 18. Your best bet is to email Yummy jobs (assuming you're from the UK!) jason@yummyjobs.com to check with him- but as far as I'm aware this is the case. Otherwise- have you thought about doing the college programme maybe- you can do that over the summer (its only a 3 month one) as long as your in the middle of uni and wait til you've graduated to do the international programme? Sorry! :-\ Charlotte x
aw that stinks! lol. thanks for the advice though! What is the college programme? Is that open to people from the UK too? Thanks so much for helping! Danielle
Hey Danielle, I'm sorry to say it but Charlottes right I think you have to be 18 for the interviews etc. Don't worry about the sucess rate at the interviews!! When you can apply go for it, I applied for the first time last oct/nov, got through the phone interview and then went for a face to face in Feb this yr I was offered a position in merch and start in Dec! I think I was just lucky but it can happen, you can get through on your first try ;D Helen x
