For all those whose flights were'nt direct and had to stop at another airport before Orlando??? Was it hard finding your way around and checking in for the next flight? Ive never been on a plane before on my own, let alone having to check in and all that stuff mum usually does! I'm scared
Ive traveled extensively but all the transfers, stop overs, lay overs, plane changes and stuff my parents have taken care of and Ive never flown alone. I actually hope to take a trip by myself just to somewhere else in Canada before I leave so I can get practise But I don't think it's too hard, I think it's layed out pretty easily and easy to understand. Good luck!
Disney Gibbs- Don't worry i went to florida via Washington, my first flight was delayed so i literally had 15 mins to pick up my luggage drop it off at the drop off zone (they will let you know when you get off your first flight) and then i had to run through two terminals to get on the flight. So if i can do it anyone can, Where are you flying from originally
Heathrow Terminal 3 oooooooooh I havent been there before... flown from Terminals 2 and 4.... weyhey I'm doing the rounds lmao
Well I was given the choice of either Manchester or London, and so as I live near London I obviously chose that LOL. I wish it was Gatwick though
me and another guy flew from glasgow to brussels, had a couple of hours there, brussels to atlanta , had to sprint off that plane and run like mad to get the flight to orlando . I was completely shattered by the time i got to the commons and then they take your photo for your commons ID..........it was a bad photo as you can imagine. paul
Oh dear, hahah. Thats a good point though, I didnt know they took your photo ID rght then when you arrive...I should get lots of sleep and not take the red eye.
Honestly, if you CAN try not to connect in one of those HUGE airports, it DOES happen (more often than you'd think) that people's first flight is late or there is a long like at security and people miss their connecting flight. I know Washington DC (Dulles) has huge terminals and wierd bus things to take you from one to the other and that could take a long time. Also with connecting sometimes you have to transfer your luggage yourself, so that takes extra time. They have minimum connecting times but they are very short, as little as 30 mins that they are "allowed" to book. Try to do a "direct" flight, this means the plane stops somewhere to let people off and more people on and refuel but you don't leave your seat, so there are no worries about missing your flight. I took a nonstop redeye, so I'll have to layer on the makeup for my commons id! yikes! hehe
Hey don't worry about it i missed my connection coz our flight was delayed from manchester, in the book you have there is a phone number to ring if you are late/missed connection we just went to the desk showed our tickets and they put us on the next flight. we didnt arrive to the commons untill late, you will get your photo the next morning helen xx
