    Hi,

I'll be a cast member in February 2006...I have a question: It seems like for some position (french bakery...) you have to remain standing up for a long time, is that true? Can't you bring a small chair or sthg? Aren't you allowed to rest a bit (seat) when there is no customer (I know it must be pretty rare)?
Anyway, I'm just wondering about this... thanks for helping me clearing this out.

    Bye ;)

  2. I don't know the answer to your question, but I would just assume that when you're working you're standing. Believe me you get used to it. I've worked at a movie theater for the past almost 4 years and I usually work 8 hour shifts and it's standing the whole time. Your body/feet/legs get used to it after a week at the most. :) have no fear.

I'm in UK merch and standing up all day can be a bit of a pain...literally lol But you move around enough to forget about it.

LOL I work in hospitality ( at the front desk ), where I am standing for 8-10 hours, sometimes even without a break. Trust me, you get used to it! Hmmm french bakery...yummy!....

Thanks for all your replies. :)

Well, I have another concern but maybe I should create a new topic... anyway I'll just post-it here:
I've been reading a lot of posts on this forum and it seems to me that a lot of people out there in WDW are "superficial"... seriously, it sounds like "bimbo world" with superficial girls only interested by their look! Well, I don't mean to hurt anyone's feeling, I just would like to know the truth and how is it really when you're there. So, if anyone can help me clear this out, I would appreciate it. ;)
    In advance, thanks!
    Bye.

  7. I would be careful with that subject. Alot of people work there and, with any large group of people, there will be some "bimbos" some punks, some preppy, some shy, some outgoing. All kinds, I wouldn't be too quick to judge "pretty" as being superficial.

Thanks Tessa for your response, I'm sure it's just a wrong impression but from the outside that's the impression I got. Anyway, I'm glad to hear that there are "shy" people there 'coz I'm more of that kind so... ;)
    Thanks. BYE!

Heres a little note for you guys that are yet to arrive here, When you get to the commons it will be absolutely nothing to what you expect right now, and i mean that in a very good way, this place rocks, no worries, u will make friends, see you when you get down here, cheers, jase :)

The thing is I'm not really outgoing coz I'm kinda shy and everything... so I was pretty anxious because reading most of the topics make it seems like you were all very outgoing. Anyway, I'm not the kind that makes friends easily. See, I'm taking that Disney experience as a therapy...coz I can't remain shy and introverted my whole life...so I hope Disney will help me with that ;)

Sorry, I'm abusing this forum talking about ME...
Well, thanks to all of you, I'm less anxious about it and I can't wait for February 2006 to come by! :D
    See y'all there!!!
    Bye.

alot of people just like to stay in of a night and chill alone or watch tv and no1 will look differently upon u , we r all different which is what makes the comons what it is.

i wish i had chance to stand still! we are constantly on the go in my job, a stand still would be lovely! xxx

It's true. There are so many different types of people in the Commons. You will meet someone just like you. It sounds crazy sitting at home right now, but, you are about to meet people who will become your family in a matter of weeks and friends that you will have for the rest of your life. There isn't much like this experience. Live it however you want, but make sure you live it so you have no regrets when your time is over. It goes faster than you can ever believe!!! And you will miss it everyday once you're home.

I can't wait as well for receiving the "Package" 'cause that will take things to a higher level, making me realize that I'm actually going there!!!
I'll see you at Epcot (for the ones who will still be there).
    'Ciao.
